As a form of a review, let us recall the five 5 Factors Common Among Dancer

ACTIVITY 1: “Missing Me”

the five common factors among dancers who have injury.

B. Establishing a Setting the objectives for the day. Let the whole class read the objectives for the
purpose for the day. (Literacy Skill)

Any injury that affects the bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves, or
tendons resulting in pain are considered musculoskeletal injuries.
While pain may be widespread and affect the entire body, it is often
localized in the hands and wrists due to their high use and
exposure especially during dancing.
Acute and Chronic Injury
These are two types of musculoskeletal injuries occur when the
mechanical force that is absorbed by the musculoskeletal structure
is more than what is accustomed to. The onset of pain and other
symptoms occur immediately after the impact are Acute injuries.
Chronic injuries occur due to repetitive trauma and the body is not
given enough time to recover. The onset of pain and other
symptoms occur at a gradual rate, which is usually worsened with
activity or training.

C. Presenting Very good class! As we are now in the introduction of our lesson.
Examples/instances Let’s initially identify and classify the different circumstances in
of the new lesson their respective box.

- Poor foot mechanics and hard dance - Excessive training
floor - Sudden movement of
- Twists the knee after a jump trunk
- Prolonged repetitive loading - Twists the ankle after
the jump

D. Discussing new Show in the power point presentation the Common Acute and Chronic Dance-
concepts and related Injuries
practicing new How important is preventing the injuries?
skills #1 In your own opinion, what do you think on how to prevent these common
injuries related to dancing? (Critical Thinking)

Give positive feedback and praises to those learners who give the correct
answers.
Note:
• During the class discussion the teacher maintain eye contact,
hand gestures, facial reactions, calling students attention
and checking the class if they understand the concept or not.
• The teacher note avoid walking in the aisle and board walk to
maintain social distancing and observing proper health
protocols.
E. Discussing new Activity 3. “Making Conclusions”
concepts and After the discussion of our lesson, infer your conclusions by
practicing new completing the sentences. Divide the class into 4 groups. Give at
skills #2 least 3 answers for each statement.

Here are the statements:

1. A Chronic Injury happens when _______________________________
2. An Acute Injury happens when ________________________________
3. And that I could be able to reduce the risk of injuries while
dancing if I will _________________________________________________

common acute/chronic dance-related injuries. The patient will give
the cause and the symptoms and then the doctor will tell the type
of injury and how to prevent the injury. Students will be given 10
points each.
Person A: Patient
Person B: Doctor

Model Conversation:
A: Good day doctor.
B: Good day. What’s the matter with you Mr./Miss. _____________?
A: I accidentally _______________________ (cause)
B: Terrible! How are you feeling today?
A: I’m feeling pain ____________________________ (symptom)
B: Oh, you have a/an __________________________ (type of injury)
A: What should I do then.
B. Aside from the medicine that I will give you. You need to rest and
_________________________ (how to prevent the injury) when it gets
healed.
A: Ok, doc. Thank you.

can check again.

G. Finding practical Activity 5. “The Casualty”

applications of
concepts and skills Given a situation of having emergency in the dance area/floor. You
in daily living will be group into 4 groups and portray a drama or pantomime to
apply First Aid to a casualty having a musculoskeletal injury. You
need to use the Principle of RICER. You will be given a maximum of
twenty (20) points for each performance. Each of you must have a
role to play.

H. Making To sum up our lesson. Musculoskeletal injury is any injury that
generalizations and affects the bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves, or tendons resulting
abstractions about in pain are considered musculoskeletal injuries. While pain may be
the lesson widespread and affect the entire body, it is often localized in the
hands and wrists due to their high use and exposure especially
during dancing. There are two types of musculoskeletal injuries:
acute injuries and chronic injuries. People suffering from
musculoskeletal pain may also feel fatigued or even experience
difficulty in sleeping so it is important to prevent them.

I. Evaluating EFFECTIVITY OF FIRST AID FOR MUSCULOSKELETAL INJURIES

learning Immobilization is an effective first aid for musculoskeletal injuries.
The first aider must be resourceful and be able to use what is
available in his surroundings to create a splint. We will have the
same 4 groupings in the class. Each group will be given 25 points

Instruction: Create a video on how to immobile an injury related

to dancing on emergency using materials commonly found in a
dance studio such as magazines, costumes, ad props. Make sure
that the principles/techniques of immobilization are followed.
Create the video using the following order:
-FIRST PART/SEGMENT – The name of the activity, the school,
the subject, and your names.
-SECOND PART/SEGMENT – Record yourselves and answer the
following questions:
1. Give a brief introduction of what are the risk factors in
dancing.
2. Give a brief introduction of Chronic and Acute Injury based
on our lesson.
3. State the purpose of the video.
-THIRD Part/SEGMENT – Record yourselves and remind your
viewers of the following before doing the activity:
1. Find a proper venue for the activity.
2. Do warm-up routines before doing the activity.
3. Rehydrate by drinking enough water even when you are not
thirsty.
4. End the session with a cool-down exercise to allow the body
back to its course.
- LAST PART/SEGMENT
1. Email your video as attachment like in google drive
2. Write your names on the content box and the name of project
in the subject.

In editing the video, the following must consider:
