Dear Sir/Madam:

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Mr. Alex Frisby and his
application for employment with your organization. I have known Mr. Frisby since January
2022, as his Population Health and Community Nursing theory and clinical instructor. I am
impressed by this young man, he is inquisitive, thoughtful, and has been a source of evidence-
based practice research for his team members.

Mr. Frisby engaged in community-based shadowing with a registered nurse at the public
health department tuberculosis clinic as well as with an advanced practice nurse in an HIV/AIDs
clinic. He wrote about his time in the HIV/AIDS clinic serving mostly the LGBTQ population,
“this experience allowed me to see how health promotion and disease/injury prevention can
benefit a whole population of individuals by simply starting with a single person and being able
to care for them with as much culturally competent care as possible.”

Mr. Frisby has been an engaged student, exploring neighborhoods and uncovering the
strengths and stressors in the community. He has been thoughtful and very observant of the
surroundings. The documentation of community assets and stressors was objective and detailed.
After completing the community assessment, mental health needs relating to anxiety and
depression were identified. Mr. Frisby and his team developed a health education project and
presented their work at the Flowing Wells Library. The focus was on self-care strategies for
teens and also highlighted resources that can be accessed by the young people.

At the conclusion of the semester Mr. Frisby and his team developed a research-type
poster which highlighted the community, assessment, issue of concern, intervention, and
evaluation of the health education project. The poster symposium was held at the Pima County
Health Department (PCHD) and well received by the staff of PCHD.

Thoughtful, engaged, accountable, and dependable are the first words that come to mind
when I think about Mr. Frisby. He participated fully in theory and clinical activities/discussions
and was professional in his communication with faculty, classmates, agency personal and the
public. He enjoyed learning and enjoyed working with people. I am sure he will be an asset to
