Respected Sir

I, Pradyumn singh , an intern at ubAdvocate firstly, would like to extent my

gratitude for providing this wonderful opportunity in showcasing new skills by
learning through the given videos as provided by Advocate Jeevan Prakash Sir and
thereby writing a legal opinion on it. Through this letter I am going to
acknowledge my experience in debating the issue on legal topic titled “
Importance of FIR under section 154 c.r.p.c .
Being a leader (HOST) it gives me enthusiam in interacting while correlating the
legal provisions in regard to the topic mentioned above. However on the other my
Five panel groupmate: 1. Pranay singh 2. Anand tripathi
3. Gopal singh 4. Vaibhav mishra 5. Khushi pandey

They also had a brief understanding about the topic. Through the entire discussion
at the end we all have a knowledge that FIR is very much mandatory to be
registered by police officer in case of cognizable offence (except in cases of
matrimonial dispute, medical negligence, commercial disputes, corruption cases
etc. in which preliminary enquiry is required before registration of FIR). After
analyzing the wordings of the bare act section 154(1) crpc which clearly stated that
every information relating to the commission of a cognizable offence, if given
orally to an officer in charge of a police station shall be reduced to writing by him.
However here the word “shall” is used as a rule of interpretation. That means it is
mandatory to register the case with regard to any information.

My opinion is supported by provision of law and also the rulings of the court in the
case Lalita Kumari Judgement in which the court held that it is mandatory to
register FIR in case of cognizable offence under section 154 crpc. I also convey
message to the panel member ,share this analytical discussion in your surrounding
for better understanding of legal protection available in constitution in case of FIR.
By knowing about this provision people will fill more legally strong on such issue.
This discussion prove a great fruitful discussion among the panel member.

Further, my opinion is based on the YouTube video

https://youtu.be/MBMIp5vd4UQ of Jeevan Prakash, AOR, Supreme Court and I
believe that this is the correct opinion, upon which you can act safely.
