Marketing/Engraving/Social Media Council Bluffs, IA
▪ Custom Design by Echo is a custom apparel, print and engraving shop.
▪ Working in these departments, I receive orders from clients and create graphics, logos and designs based on
their requests using graphic design programs like CorelDraw. Then using engraving machines, UV printers, vinyl
printers, and water jets apply the designs and logos to a wide range of products such as drinkware, cutlery,
clothing, various metal, wood and plastic products.
▪ Take photos and videos to showcase finished products, assist the head videographer in creating content and
making commercial ads to promote Custom Design and Echo Electric (parent company of Custom Design).

Omaha World-Herald September 2018 – March 2020


Online Sports Editor/Social Media Manager/Video Editor/Sports Copy Editor Omaha, NE
▪ Working as an Online Sports Editor, my duties included publishing articles to Omaha.com based on nightly
events and breaking news. Designed online page layouts for sports articles through BloxTCMS prior to
publishing – attaching related photos, videos and articles. Utilized proper AP Style and grammar while editing
articles, writing headlines and bylines. Created and sent out push alerts when breaking news occurred.
▪ As a Sports Copy Editor, I designed the page layout for the sports scoreboard section using Adobe InCopy,
collected and published scores, standings and other sports results to print via phone calls, social media and the
Associated Press.
▪ As a Social Media Manager, my duties included publishing articles, writing headlines and curating creative social
media posts for the World-Herald’s sports accounts, such as OWH Sports, OWH Huskers, OWH Jays, OWH Mavs,
OWH CWS, NE Prep Zone, among others. While managing these multiple accounts through Tweet Deck and
FaceBook, I’d schedule future posts to keep and increase viewership after the articles were published.
▪ As a video editor, I created and edited video content for OWH Sports and News using Final Cut Pro. Created
weekly video content for the Carriker Chronicles web series, as well as videos related to news stories, including a
History of Omaha’s Unicameral, and Omaha’s Low Cost of Living.

AV Tech/Camera Operator Omaha, NE
▪ As an AV Tech, my duties included having an understanding of how to set up and operate various cameras,
lighting, visual and audio equipment for events at Omaha’s CHI Health Center (formerly CenturyLink Center).
Setting up for events included following instructions for room setup, designing and building sets based on
client's requests.
▪ As a camera operator, I was responsible for utilizing my video skills to the best of my abilities during events –
having a working knowledge of how to operate various cameras (including professional camcorders and
conference cameras), tripods and lights. Maintaining a well-framed, well-lit, in-focus picture, while moving
fluidly to capture speakers, entertainers, others involved with the event. Taking instruction from the technical
director and clients to adjust shots based on needs.
▪ During events, duties included providing friendly and accommodating service to clients, and troubleshooting
any technical issues involving camera, audio or visual equipment to assure an efficiently run event.

Spectrum Sports September 2017 – December 2018


Camera Operator/Camera Grip/Stats/Various Positions Omaha, NE
▪ Set up and operated equipment for television broadcasts of high school sporting events.
▪ As a camera operator, I provided the best shots possible based on the director’s instructions via headset,
maintained fluid movement of the tripod and camera while capturing the action in real time.
▪ Working as a camera grip, involved assisting camera operators throughout the broadcasts, setting up, striking
and having a working knowledge of camera and broadcast equipment.
▪ Operated a parabolic microphone for numerous broadcasts and captured audio near the field of play.
▪ Have an understanding of sports and the rules to collect statistics and relay them to the director and graphics
department during broadcast to provide viewers with additional information.

WOWT 6 News May 2015 – August 2015

▪ Working alongside sports broadcasters Jeff Packer and Ross Jernstrom to create content for daily and nightly
newscasts.
▪ Editing highlights using editing programs like Edius, press events stories and packages for air, writing scripts,
operating camera for stories, live shots and interviews at events in the Omaha area, including (but not limited to)
the College World Series, high school baseball, soccer, basketball and the World Volleyball Grand Prix.

Cyclones.TV August 2015 – May 2016


Multimedia Journalism Internship Ames, IA
▪ Cyclones.TV is a regional sports network that focuses on covering Iowa State athletics.
▪ Duties include independently producing and curating video content, packages and stories recapping/showcasing
sporting events, interviewing athletes, coaches and those involved with Cyclone athletics. Operating cameras
during live sporting events and broadcasts – providing fluid and clean shots based on director’s instructions.
▪ Traveling with Iowa State sports teams, covering and creating recaps for events in a timely manner – write
scripts, record audio and edit video using Adobe Premiere Pro.
▪ Working in teams to provide play-by-play and color commentary for live sporting events, as well as creating
content in teams to produce packages showcasing, recapping and previewing events and stories surrounding
Iowa State athletics.

Heartland College Sports Fall 2014 – Fall 2015

▪ Heartland College Sports an independent media outlet covering Big 12 athletics.
▪ Follow beats related to Iowa State basketball and football, write creative and captivating articles covering
breaking news and events to catch reader’s attention and garner additional readership. Attend sporting events

Bachelor of Science, Journalism & Mass Communication (Minor: Communication Studies) Ames, IA
▪ ISU TV Sports Director (2015): Head of the sports branch of ISU TV. Host and producer of weekly sports
show Cyclone inCYders. Shot highlights, packages and put together outlines of the show, assembled a production
crew and co-hosts to work show each week. Organized an assignment list, applied for and provided press
passes/credentials to reports for events, assisted reports in creating content.
▪ ISU TV (Fall 2014-2016): Wrote stories for air, shot packages and recaps of events. Wrote and read stories to
the audience via teleprompter. Operated broadcast equipment including cameras, lights, graphics, control boards
and audio mixers during shows. Worked actively with the club on training programs for new members.
▪ 88.5 KURE Sports Radio (Fall 2016): Follow outlines provided by show director, create content to be discussed
on air related to a wide spectrum of sports topics, especially Iowa State athletics. KURE also had an on-air TV
show in partnership with ISUtv. I was a frequent cohost of the show, created content and graphics used for
on-air discussion.
▪ I-State News (Fall 2013 & 2014): I-State News is a twice-a-week television news broadcast run by two classes at
Iowa State. I was a part of both classes, doing both the production responsibilities (camera and audio operating,
technical directing, graphics) and the on-air responsibilities for news, sports and weather (writing readers,
shooting packages, creating OTS graphics, reading stories on-air).

▪ The Wire Editor-In-Chief (2012): Oversaw all newspaper operations, assign stories to reporters, provide editing
and feedback, write columns and articles for each issue, perform layout and design of paper on Adobe
InDesign. Awarded best column award at local high school competition.
▪ The Wire Newspaper (2009-2012): Wrote for school’s publication, covering an array of topics including sports,
features of students and staff, world news, local news, special interest, opinion pieces and more. Took photos
for the newspaper and won a best sports photo award at a local competition.
