Social media is influential in young people’s lives, and this study examines how
politically involved young people adapt social media into their current organizations and
political communications. This qualitative research project sought at how young people
from a variety of political and civic organizations utilize social media to share
information, mobilize, and, increasingly, redefine political action and political spaces.
(Ariadne Vromen el al , 2015).

The impact of traditional media and the Internet on young people’s political
participation has gotten a lot of attention from academics. This article examines the
relationships between media use (newspapers, television, and the Internet) and offline
and online forms of political involvement, starting with a notion of differentiated media
use and an all-encompassing notion of political participation. (Tom P Bakker el al ,
2011).
The use of social media as a learning process is inevitable, as students
need to be politically inclined. This study wants to contribute the lack of research on the
topic of political material. It is complement the literature by evaluating the effects of
social media use on political knowledge. (Drina Intyaswati,2021).

The study results showed that the use of social media influences political
knowledge by mediating online discussions over different social media platforms. The
more students use social media and discuss political issues, the higher their level of
knowledge. The study implies that instructors can use social media to integrate the
instructional design of relevant courses that facilitate political discussion to learn for the
acquisition of students’ political knowledge. (Eni Maryani 2021).
BODY

According to Ayesha Karamat, Dr. Ayesha Farooq South Asian Studies 31 (1), 2020,
People can use social media to develop and exchange various ideas, information, and
pictures/videos. It's a type of internet communication that encourages individuals to
participate and collaborate. As a result, social media may be influencing young people's
attitudes and behaviors. It also raises public awareness by creating various internet
pages and accounts for users to use to share their agendas and information.

The impact of social media on public perception is being investigated. On other hand
Cathy J Cohen, Joseph Kahne YPP Research Network, 2011 says that a new research
of student Internet usage by a group of civic learning scholars, youth who explore their
interests on the Internet are more likely to get involved in civic and political concerns.
Internet users are also more likely to be exposed to a variety of political ideas. The
study's findings contradict two widely held beliefs: first, that the Internet makes exposure
to differing political viewpoints unlikely, a phenomenon known as the "echo chamber"
effect; and second, that the Internet encourages youth to engage in shallow activism, a
phenomenon known as "slacktivism."
CONCLUSION

The results contributed to understanding the indirect effects of using social media on
student’s political knowledge. This influence was mediated by interpersonal
communication on social media networks. The political talk serves as a mediating effect
on social media use related to politics on political knowledge among students.
Social media can help strengthen students’ political knowledge who have an online
education learning system; furthermore, they can integrate social media as part of
instructional design by either the instructor or the institution. Communication networks
facilitate political discussion among students to enhance their political knowledge.
Communication involving students about the benefits of using social media as a means
of discussion should be highly encouraged.

The History of each and every politician is now a trend during this election days, what
they did, what they will do and what are they doing. What we can see in social media
platforms are the ones we believe in, we are being influenced by these articles and this
pursuades us to vote that candidate. Others use this as a platform to do some research
so that they would know thoroughly the details about the candidate so that they can
made the right choice, some just believe whatever the see. In addition to that, the
