4.1 Introductory Activity

Teacher shows picture of an example of living things and their environment. Let students to
8 minutes observe and asks their ideas/insights about what is shown in the picture.

4.2 Activity

Let students identify which is the species, genetic and ecosystem in the pictures shown.
8 minutes

4.3 Analysis
Teacher asks students in the following questions:

1.) What is species? Possible Ans. A species is often defined as the largest
group of organisms in which any two individuals of the appropriate sexes or mating types can
produce fertile offspring.

2.)What is genetic? Possible Ans. Genetics is a branch of biology

Teacher asks students in the following questions:

1.) What is species? Possible Ans. A species is often defined as the largest
group of organisms in which any two individuals of the appropriate sexes or mating types can
produce fertile offspring.

10 minutes 2.)What is genetic? Possible Ans. Genetics is a branch of biology

concerned with the study of genes, genetic variation, and heredity in organisms.
3.) How about the ecosystem? Possible Ans. An
ecosystem is a community of living organisms in conjunction with the nonliving components of
their environment. 4.)What do we call that three
(species, genetic, and ecosystem) ? Possible Ans. We will called that a Biodiversity .

4.4 Abstraction
Biodiversity is coined from the words, biologocal diversity. The three levels of biodiversity
namely: different kinds of organisms(species diversity), genetic information that organisms
10 minutes contain(genetic diversity) and different kinds of places where organisms live in the
interconnections that bind these organisms together (ecosystem diversity).

4.5 Application
Let students group into four. Each group will differentiate the three levels of biodiversity and they
15 minutes will give some of examples each through drawing.
