Introduction

Covid-19 pandemic has changed all aspects of human life, including tourism. Policies and travel

restrictions implemented in several countries have influenced the perception of tourist tourism

during a pandemic or after the pandemic has ended (Wachyuni & Kusumaningrum, 2020). The

factors on affecting tourists can be seen when they selecting travel destinations during pandemic.

The researchers observed that tourism students in Baliuag University have different perspective

in choosing a safers or avoiding an unsafe destination.

(Wen, Kozak, Yang, & Liu, 2020) explained that safety, security, and health risks are affect

tourists' perceptions of tourist destinations so that they are more likely to look for tourist

destinations that are equipped with the quantity and quality of infrastructure that follows the

required health protocols. Furthermore, tourism students’ engagement is one way to measure and

evaluate the tourist travel risk associated with the tourism attractions.

In addition, national and global increase of the outbreak has cause travel restrictions such as

curfew and banning travel between cities. The basis of this problems lies in the fact then tourists

are constantly interacting with infected people or regions and that they carry infectious diseases

or viruses to another sites of the world especially by the airway (Min, Kung, & Liu, 2010).

The researchers would like to determine how Baliuag University tourism students be influence of

pandemics on travel behaviors, patterns, and mode choices. The researchers would also like to

create suggestions for possible solutions in order to address this issue.

Throughout the study, the researchers will know the different factors on affecting tourist in

selecting travel destination and, the impact of covid19 in travel satisfaction. It will give the

affected human health and life but also the daily activity participation and perception towards

travel. This can help the beneficiaries to take an action to solve this issue.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

The Covid-19 outbreak is causing an effect on the global tourism industry. Tourists'

perceptions of travel risk and management are the key factors in determining where to go during

the ongoing uncertainty of the Covid-19 outbreak. However, since the issue of travel risk was

always so important during Covid-19 epidemic, this study aimed at examining and analyzing

tourists' perceptions of travel risk and management in regards to tourism destinations.

FACTORS ON AFFECTING TOURISTS INTEREST

(Reisinger & Mavondo, 2005), stated that “Risk perception in tourism is linked to the

evaluation of a situation” They studied regarding the risk to make travel decisions, purchase and

consume travel products or experiences.

Base on the study entitled “Theory of Planned Behaviour” (Ajzen, 1991) the intra-

pandemic perceptions towards tourism destinations are added to examine their association with

post-pandemic planned travel behaviours, particularly with regard to Attitude and Post-pandemic

Travel Intention. This research provides a novel contribution to existing knowledge by providing

a prompt understanding of a real-time pandemic, particularly on the impacts of intra-pandemic

perceptions on post-epidemic planned travel behaviours.

According to study entitled “Social costs of tourism during the covid -19 pandemic”

(Sharifpour, Walters, & Ritchie, 2014; Song et al., 2019). They have analyzed the effects of

crises on tourism businesses or destinations, while largely ignoring the perspectives of the

residents of destination communities.

To conclude, the study entitled “Exploring the impacts of COVID-19 on travel behavior

and mode preferences” (de Haas et al., 2020, Mogaji, 2020). Different countries have adopted

different degrees of restrictions to prevent and control the spread of the virus. Such restrictions

could largely affect peoples’ lifestyles, social interactions, and economic conditions. In

particular, the travel and outdoor activities of humans could be significantly affected. On the

other hand, fear of infection and perceived risk could also affect travel behaviors and mode

choices.

In conclusion, this study entitled “The shifting trends in travelling after the covid 19

pandemic” (Grzywacz & Zeglen, 2016). Different types of tourists will affect tourism planning

variations, seeking tourist information from external sources, destinations, duration of tours, and

travel processes before making travel-related decisions

SELECTING TRAVEL DESTINATION

According to Rather, R. A. (2021), the insights acquired from this research offers a

mechanism behind fear/perceived risk and social media-based brand engagement, attitude, co-

creation and revisit intention in pandemic situation and implications for tourism-reliant

destinations to build recovery-strategies/tactics in coping with the impact of pandemics to re-

store tourism.
