Thomas Cook and Greece
▪ Rhodes is the most popular Greek island for
our customers, followed by Crete, Kos and
Corfu – for couples, Rhodes is our most
popular summer holiday destination overall
and Santorini is the third most popular. 1 Rhodes 7x
2 Crete 4.6x
3 Corfu 3.6x
▪ Bookings for Rhodes are seven times higher
than last year – only Turkey destinations rank 4 Kos 5.2x
higher for fastest growth. 5 Santorini 3.9x

▪ Greece was our best selling summer

destination last year as customers understood
the rules and good now to see all rules
scrapped – makes families’ lives easier.

How is this summer looking?
• Currently 30% of our bookings are for Greece – this week it was higher than Spain in
total – and has consistently been higher than Turkey.

• People are booking even closer to departure than last year – 52% of our bookings are
for the next 10 weeks.

• Bookings are higher now than they were six weeks ago – customers seem to be less
concerned about Ukraine but still booking relatively short-term.

• Spend continues to increase as people indulge in 4* and 5* hotels and more all-
inclusive.

• Average spend in Greece is 30% higher than in Spain – reflecting higher all-inclusive
and higher hotel category.
