I am writing this letter of recommendation for Caroline Buechel who is applying for a middle level teaching position.

I have had the privilege of knowing Caroline this year in my capacity as a University of Arkansas College of Education
and Health Professions MAT mentor teacher. Caroline has an outstanding academic record at the U of A and
demonstrated excellence in my classroom as an intern. She taught a diverse group of students who face a variety of
personal and learning challenges in the general education setting.

During her time in my classroom, she planned and implemented in-class learning activities, formative and summative
assessments to check for understanding and led targeted small group instruction. Caroline successfully demonstrated
her awareness of different learning styles and adequately adjusted assignments to meet the varied needs of students. Her
lessons were creative, engaging and thoroughly prepared and implemented. She set clear and fair expectations for all
students. Caroline was also very reflective in her teaching, always stopping to think about what she could do better or
what could be changed or adjusted in order to meet student needs. She was successful in monitoring and adjusting to
various schedule changes in order to complete lessons during her time of teaching. Her flexibility was impressive!

Caroline has a very positive and enthusiastic personality. She had a great rapport with the students that she taught.
Caroline is professional in her appearance, articulate, responsible and trustworthy. Other collaborative team members
accepted her as a professional, capable contributor and as a colleague.

I am certain that Caroline will be an asset to any staff with whom she works. She is confident, knowledgeable,
passionate and has the skills to be an effective teacher. I know that she will continue to grow and become even more
effective with further opportunities. I believe she will be an excellent fit for a middle level teaching position based on
her superior organizational skills, flexibility, love for learning, professionalism and reliability. I highly recommend her
