• The EARTH terminal (on the right side of the breaker) within the control panel and
the DC12 connector (CN1) + (white wire) and - (blue wire) on the main circuit
board,
• The EARTH terminal within the control panel and the individual connectors on the
main circuit board.
[3] Verify that insulation resistance is greater than 5MΩ.

(Note) Never attempt to use a 500V/100MΩ resistance meter in any of the locations stated

board.
3) Remove the connector now placed on the "power supply SW" connector (CN8) on the main
circuit board.
4) Turn MB (motor breaker) on.
5) Check to see that the inverter indicator is lit.
6) Settings for inverter offline tuning (setting Pr. 96 to "1")
[1] Check to see that the status indicator indicators "MON" and "EXT" are lit on the
inverter operating panel.
[2] Press "MODE" on the inverter operating panel two times. The status indicator "EXT"
will light up with "E..." appearing on the panel's display.
[3] Press "PU" on the inverter operating panel once. The status indicator "EXT" will light
up with "..." appearing on the display.
[4] Press "MODE" on the inverter operating panel two times. The status indicators "PU"
and "PRM" will light up with "P. 0" appearing on the display.
[5] Turn the dial on the inverter operating panel until "P. 96" appears on the display.
[6] Press "SET" on the inverter operating panel. "0" will appear on the display.
[7] Turn the dial on the inverter operating panel until "1" appears on the display.
[8] Press "SET" on the inverter operating panel. "P. 96" and "1" will flash on/off
alternately on the display.
7) Switching to monitor mode
[1] Press "MODE" on the inverter operating panel two times. (The status indicators
"MON" and "PU" light up with "1" appearing on the display.)
8) Starting offline tuning
[1] Press "RUN" on the inverter operating panel. ("RUN" lights up.) (For information: This
indicates that auto tuning is enabled.)
"1", "2" and "3" will appear in this order on the display. (When "3" shows up, "RUN"

4. Voltage Measurement

Turn MB on and take measurements of voltage in the following locations:

[1] Supply voltage

Verify that supply voltage as measured between R, S, and T terminals on the secondary side
of the motor breaker is within the range of +5% to -10%.
[2] Control circuit voltage
Verify that voltage in the range of 11.5 to 12.5VDC is present between No. 1 pin (-) and No. 4
pin (+) of the connector CN2 (in the case of capacity being 50W).
* Take voltage measurements between No. 1 pin (-) and No. 6 pin (+) for a supply
capacity of 75W and between No. 1 pin (-) and No. 8 pin (+), for 100W.
[3] Signal circuit voltage
Verify that voltage in the range of11.5 to 12.5VDC is present between No. 2 pin (-) and No. 1
pin (+) of the "interphone" connector (CN2) on the main circuit board.

* Power supply
connector "CN2"

5. Load Test

(1) Measuring Instruments

Because voltage or current present on the output side of the inverter contains harmonics, the
following instruments should be used:

a. Output-side voltage ∙∙∙ Rectifier-type AC voltmeter (not moving-iron type)

* It should be noted that the tester has too large a tolerance rating to achieve a reliable
measurement.
b. Approximate RMS ammeter

(2) Procedure

Measurements should be taken to determine voltage, current and speed as the car moves up
or down while carrying 0% (NL), 50%L, 100%L, or 110%L of its rated load.

(3) Measurement

[1] Criteria

Item When the car carries no load or When the car carries 100% of its
110% of its rated load rated load
Speed Less than 125% of rated speed 90% to 100% of rated speed
during upward movement
Current Less than 120% of motor's rated Less than 100% of motor's rated
current current

[2] Point to be noted

During the occurrence of regenerative current (NL, UP/FL, DN, etc.), output voltage
may be somewhat higher than customer-furnished input voltage (10% or so). Such
voltage reading is valid as a measured value because it is associated with an
increase in bus voltage which is caused by the regenerative current.
