INFORMATION SHEET

The 2022 Annual Key Club International Convention (ICON) will be held July 6-10, in Washington D.C. The
convention will offer outstanding speakers and entertainers. There will also be a variety of forums and
workshops, officer elections, and a service fair. It will be a great week of education, motivation, and fun!

participate in the District Tour – please read more below.

The Capital District is offering a District Tour for the convention. The tour provides students the opportunity to
attend the convention as well as enjoy some special one-in-a-lifetime Kiwanis Family opportunities. The tour is
fully chaperoned and includes organized activities and most meals with the District group. If school and school
district regulations allow, the District adult chaperones are able to serve as chaperones for all students
attending the convention and tour.

Travel

Transportation to/from the hotel in Washington D.C. is the responsibility of the student and his/her family.

The District Tour price includes (for both students & adults):
 Convention Registration Fee (this is set by International)
 Hotel Accommodations for 4 nights (Wednesday - Saturday)
 Continental breakfast each morning
 Special District Tour activities
 Snacks available daily from the District suite
 Daily evening meeting & social time in the District Suite
 District t-shirt special for ICON & convention souvenirs
 For advisors and chaperones only: Special advisors’ breakfast included

Some spending money will be needed. The District Tour provides for most meals during the convention.

REGISTRATION & PRICING INFORMATION

Student District Tour Prices & Deadlines:

$550.00 per person (Quad Occupancy)
$615.00 per person (Triple Occupancy)
$725.00 per person (Double Occupancy)

Chaperone District Tour Prices & Deadlines:

$625.00 per person (Double Occupancy)
(This price differs from a student double room thanks to the lower registration fee offered to chaperones by Key Club
International)

For adults, the cost is based on two adults of the same gender sharing a room or two related adults sharing
a room. Any adult requesting a single room will have a cost increase. Adults are not permitted to room with
students except their own child.

Deposit: $200 trip deposit due, postmarked by Friday, May 13, 2022.

Second Installment: $200 second payment due, postmarked by Friday, May 27, 2022.

Final Installment: Remainder of balance due, postmarked by Friday, June 17, 2022.

Please be sure that the student’s name appears clearly on any check submitted so that they are properly
credited for the payment. PayPal payment is preferred, and payments made through PayPal can be done with
a credit or debit card; it is not necessary to have a PayPal account.

A late registration fee of $50 applies after Friday, May 27, 2022. No refunds will be given after Friday, May 27,
2022.

For full registration for the convention, students are able to register on their own through keyclub.org to attend
International Convention, but then they are not included in any of the above plans and they must find their
own chaperones. Key Club International does not allow any student to attend the convention without a
designated chaperone. District souvenirs and District social opportunities are not provided to those not on

Day Passes
As International Convention is in the Capital District this year, Key Club International is allowing day passes for
the first time ever for members within the Capital District only. With Day Passes, registrants are only registering
for the Convention itself – not hotel, transportation, or any District meals or snacks. Registrants can add on a t-
shirt and pins for trading with other members for $10. Registrants may choose any day or multiple days to attend
– the pricing per day from Key Club International is different depending on the day(s) chosen:

Wednesday, July 6th – $50

Thursday, July 7th – $75
Friday, July 8th – $75
Saturday, July 9th – $110
