2. Investment
TCS came out with its IPO in the month of July, 2004; the price band
was ₹ 775-Rs 900. The issue price of TCS shares was fixed at ₹ 850. From
August 25, 2004 till now, TCS has issued bonus shares twice in the ratio of
1:1 (one bonus share for every share held). The bonus shares were issued
first on July 28, 2006 and later on June 16, 2009. So, an investor who bought
just one share in TCS' IPO, by investing ₹ 850, would have 4 shares of TCS
by now. The value of ₹ 850 invested in TCS in August 2004 would have gone
up to ₹ 9,904.8 (stock price of ₹ 2,476.20 x 4 bonus shares) based on Friday's
closing price. This turns out to be a return of 1065 per cent over the last ten
years or a CAGR of 27.8 per cent. This return is over and above the dividends
paid by the company.

3. Turnover

India's largest IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services reached the key revenue
milestone of $25billion in annual revenue for the year ended December 2021. To
retain quality talents, TCS has promoted 1.1 lakh employees so far in this fiscal year,
and has plans to promote 40,000 more in Q4 FY22. The company has also added
28,238 staff during the quarter, taking the total employee strength to 5,56,986. TCS
had added 19,690 employees in the previous quarter. This is in line with the
company’s target of 78,000 freshers it would add in FY22, up from 40,000 it had in
the last year. Milind Lakkad, Chief HR Officer at TCS, said in a statement, " We
continue to set new records in talent acquisition. In addition to the 43,000 freshers

we hired in H1, we on-boarded 34,000 fresh graduates in Q3 – which is higher than

our full year fresher hiring numbers in prior years."

4. Pollution
To reiterate its commitment to environmental sustainability, TCS has already
achieved its 2020 target of reducing its specific carbon footprint by 50%
(relative to baseline year 2007-08). We have reduced our specific energy
consumption, which is the biggest contributor to our carbon footprint, by over
51.4% over the baseline year. Green infrastructure, green IT, and IT-enabled
operational efficiencies support TCS’ energy and carbon management
process.Over 50% of our total real estate portfolio is certified green building
space, and 80% of all TCS-owned real estate is IGBC/LEED-certified green
infrastructure. Key features of our green buildings include energy -efficient
design, onsite renewable energy through rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) panels,
solar thermal installations, chiller waste heat recovery units, and solar PV
panel-based peripheral lighting systems.

Conclusion: Thus, we have Surveyed industries of your stream, grade them

according to the level of scale of Scale production, Investment, Turnover,
Pollution.
