Dr. Pio Valenzuela was a medicine student in UST
whn he joined the Katipunan. As a trusted member of
the Katipunan, he was tasked by Bonifacio to visit
Jose Rizal in Dapitan to discuss the organization’s
plan to revolt against the Spaniards.

was a well-known scholar, lawyer, writer, journalist,
musician, painter, and linguistic. He wrote about the
country’s fight for independence in his articles in La
Independencia using the pen name “G. Solon.”
