MY History
MY History
INTRODUCTION
Everybody has a history but not everybody knows their own history let alone other people’s history.
We are all human beings with many things in common our pasts are intertwined and in many cases we are related.
Hence histories are forgotten and lost in conjunction with language and traditions
Nigeria celebrates 50 years of Independence this year, a nation with over 300 ethnic groups and 3,000 dialects. We are beset by the
dichotomy of tribalism whilst inter peoples marriage is on the increase; the disappearance of smaller ethnic groups as people marry
outside of their race and rapid modernity resulting in relocation and a dislocation from ones roots. One thing remains constant
whoever we are, Family.
Family is central to and the root of nearly every Nigerians existence yet the onset of modernity and the urban drift has begun to
compete with our very existence. The knowledge of who one might be or who your neighbour is would go along way to;
