Technology in Film and Television Animation", Journal of Sensors, vol. 2021, Article ID

5041832, 12 pages, 2021. https://doi.org/10.1155/2021/5041832

As technology grows and goes hand in hand within the movie industry, Di Lei

and Sae-Hoon Kim write about how the next step to revolutionize the way we

watch movies is via Virtual Reality. In the paper, it is shown the process to try

and figure out on how to train A.I and technology to better understand human

interactions by the process, “Extract the intention of the user’s brain from the

user’s behavioral representation.” While they were not exactly able to produce an

outcome that most people would not understand, it does set up the basics to have

newly revolutionizing ideas for the modern film industry. What they ended with

was the proposition of two models that can potentially bridge the gap between VR

perception and simulation with film and television.

Studies, vol. 24, no. 4, 2020, pp. 596–610., doi:10.1007/s12111-020-09502-6.

Through the early stages of Hollywood, often you will find out of date topics for

movie and other themes that are considered racist. Dupree Wilson writes about

the depiction of African Americans portrayed in the roles of Hollywood films as

just one-off characters along with just being servants and such. In hopes of having

others to become aware of the portrayal of African Americans in the film industry

Dupree Wilson makes strong arguments and solid points to have more diversity of

black representation. As stated by Wilson, “T he African American experience

was vast and full and should be portrayed as such.”

doi:10.1007/s12231-020-09505-0.

In this article Francisco Ortega writes about the beginnings of using motions

pictures with economic botany. While as strange as this might sound since

motions pictures are quite frequent and common in almost all aspects of the world

today, the paper shows the way it all started. Economic Botany is the study of the

relationship between people and plants. So in this paper, Ortega writes about how

introducing Motion Pictures into the fields has made access to this knowledge

easier. Overall, it gives a depth into the variety of the worlds viewpoints on how

their economic botany works among their cultures and such.

what they call “eWOD” (electronic word of mouth) and it’s correlation with

success in the Film industry. They go on to show various examples including

Box-office Mojo and IMDb have a huge impact on films as they release and their

lifetime ratings that can guarantee their award worthy status or not. Through

research and various data analysis it was concluded that eWOD can not be the

only true factor and that with more data, better results can be produced.

Ian Scott. “‘Don’t Be Frightened Dear … This Is Hollywood’: British Filmmakers in Early

American Cinema.” European Journal of American Studies, vol. 5, no. 4.

doi:10.4000/ejas.8751.

In this article Ian Scott, as it says clearly in the title, writes about the early stages

of American cinema but more so the beginnings involving British filmmakers.

Similarly to the British invasion in music culture, British filmmakers have

different perspectives when it comes to filmmaking and such as American

Cinema was rather stale and all the same in early cinema. Much was doubtful and

straightforward, and the British filmmakers came into to share their creativity.

Through all the analysis on the said British filmmakers’ life’s those mentioned in

the article are the ones who shaped and molded American cinema into what it is

today.

collaboration networks in the film industry. PLoS ONE 15(2): e0229436.

https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0229436

The pages in this article tell and analyze how core creators take advantage of

brokerage in core/periphery networks. It is said that the key to success and award

status/worthiness is all based on the core and the periphery networks established

among the workers as they are the ones that produce the films and make them

come to live. After such experimentations and data analysis, the conclusive

evidence is that those who are all in a cooperative environment will not always be

the key to success but a rather just a strategy to make working together easier. In

all accounts it is stated that regardless of whatever environment they are in one’s

own success will be boosted further. The way to expand upon this subject in

question is to expand from Hungarian only films to more global data.

Muzzio, Thomas Halper- Douglas. “It's a Wonderful Life: Representations of the Small Town in

American...” European Journal of American Studies, European Association for American

Studies, 24 Feb. 2011, journals.openedition.org/ejas/9398.

In this article, it calls out the trope of representation for small towns in America as

being the ‘creepy’ town or the inferior place to the rest of the world when in

reality it should be the opposite. The small little towns are those that are rich in

history and as such should be represented that way on the silver screens. For the

most part, small towns are really only referenced to in this light and what the

articles goes on about is how they should have more focuses to these places as

these are where ordinary people reside. In the sense that more tv shows and

movies are just glamorized in urban areas where ‘everything’ happens since the

audience come from said metropolitan areas which leads to the way the film

industry now. In conclusion the articles states that theses cities are not dead as

they say but rather blooming with more life than any other urban cities.

International Advances in Economic Research.” SpringerLink, Springer US, 1 Dec. 2020,

link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11294-020-09811-2.

Within this article the main point is that a belief in the immortality of the movie

industry in an economic sense is quite popular. The idea of a single business or

industry being immune to any negative economic effects on the basis of the

economy around it is almost mythical. In this article it analyzes all the data to see

whether or not the motion picture industry is recession proof or not. In the

conclusion is it stated that no they are indeed affected by the “macroeconomic

downturns” The solutions to the Film-Industry to be almost recession proof is to

time the releases and try to control the number of sales during specific time

periods along with the distribution of where to have the films. Through various

analytical and empirical data these conclusions have been made however they can

be expanded upon by broader and more expandable data.

whether or not the finished product will “be good.” This article asks these

questions and uses them for the bases to apply it and see if they can come up with

something to predict the outcomes of movies and the movies business. In the end

there were three conclusive techniques that can be taken into consideration with

one technique being the most reliable of the three.
