FORMULA

Subject + BE + verb + ING + complement

Susan is working now

1. They are waiting for us on the corner now.

2. Janet is doing well in her studies.
3. I am writing a letter.

To negate the present progressive place not after the auxiliary TO BE.

1. She isn’t studying now.

2. I’m not taking dancing lessons.
3. They aren’t planning to go to the concert.

For yes/no questions place the verb BE before the subject.

1. Are they sleeping? Yes, they are / No, they aren’t

2. Is the sky getting dark? Yes, it is / No, it isn’t.
