I. OBJECTIVES
Hospital Duty
II. BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Ma'am Marissa messaged us on our group chat for some instructions before we traveled to the
Salubris Medical Hospital, both for groups A and B. Around 7:05 a.m., I arrived at the hospital.
We waited for a bit till we were finished with our clinical teachers. We were the first people to
enter the hospital. We rush to the lounge area to change our clinical clothes into scrub suits
and clinical shoes into slippers. Following that, we convened for our pre-conference, which
was led by Ma'am Marissa. Then, because there was no patient at the moment, we entered the
labor room for practice. And we used the time to get acquainted with the place with the help
of the on-duty nurse. The nurse walked us through the procedure, beginning with the patient
entering the hospital in a wheelchair, proceeding to the labor room, delivery room, and
depositing the newborn baby in the NICU. So, in the labor room, we may IE the patient, run
the NST, and complete the paperwork while still communicating well with the patient. So,
whenever the patient is ready to give birth, we will rush her to the delivery room. The team
includes a scrub nurse who will assist and hold the sterile supplies, a circulating nurse who
will assist the scrub nurse and conduct the documentation, an anesthesiologist, and others. All
items required are already present in the room, including BTL materials if required. So, once
the baby is born, a radiant warmer is used to maintain the infant's temperature. We simply
prepared our script and did our first simulation after being coached by the nurse. I was
designated as a patient, Maurice as the doctor, Cherry as the scrub nurse, Xyrille as the stop
recorder, and myself as the circulating nurse. Following that, we were granted a 30-minute
break. Before purchasing, we converted our scrubs into clinical clothes. After the break, we
changed back into our scrubs before entering the delivery room. So, in our previous simulation,
Kim played the patient and I played the doctor. Maurice was the circulation nurse, Xyrille was
the scrub nurse, and Cherry was in charge of the paperwork. Our shift finished at 12 p.m.
III. FACTORS THAT ENHANCE LEARNING
The nurse on duty at the delivery area enhanced my learning. Despite the fact that we were
only student nurses, she patiently took us through the process and thoroughly explained it. She

not only gave us a tour of the location, but also assisted us in learning about and being
acquainted with the institution. Furthermore, Ma'am Marissa assisted us in learning and
exploring the area of our duty.
IV. FACTORS THAT HINDER LEARNING
There were no circumstances that hampered my learning since we were able to learn despite
the fact that no patient was present throughout our planned duty..
V. COMMENTS AND SUGGESTION
We made good use of the time. We took advantage of the chance to gather expertise and obtain
a grasp of real-world delivery practices. Our first duty was wonderful, and I hope that there is
already patient on our next duty.
