This first assessment offers you the opportunity to reflect on your learning about and experience with

This assessment addresses the first three of the paper’s learning outcomes:
1. Demonstrate the interpersonal and intercultural communication skills necessary within
diverse organisations and working teams.
2. Evaluate cultural value systems and how these influence organisational culture and
processes.
3. Write grammatically and effectively for conveying meaning.

This assessment consists of three key parts, firstly, a) reflect on your own interpersonal communication
style outside the workplace with friends and family members; b) reflect on your interpersonal
communication style within the workplace; and c) analyse and critique similarities and differences in the
two styles and suggest ways of improving these practices within each setting.

Make sure you clearly identify and explain significant outcomes and learning for you about interpersonal
communication. Your total word count for this essay is 1800 words (plus or minus 150), excluding
