GROUND EMERGENCIES
LANDING GEAR RETRACTION FAILURE
FIRE DURING START
If landing gear remains down after having moved
1. THROTTLE OFF the landing gear lever up:
2. Start switches – STOP-START 1. Maintain speed below 260 KIAS
3. Fuel shut off switch – OFF 2. Burn off fuel
3. Land as soon as practicable
TAKE OFF EMERGENCIES
ABORT/BARRIER ENGAGEMENT

1. THROTTLE - OFF
2. Brakes – apply maximum brakes

WARNING
A barrier engagement can't be done during
take-off run. The arresting hook must be
lowered in flight with gear down and flaps at
least at TO position to correctly initialize hook
system.
IN-FLIGHT EMERGENCIES IN-FLIGHT EMERGENCIES

AIR START EXTERNAL TANKS FUEL DUMP

To dump all external fuel:
1. START SWITCH – START 1. External stores emerg rel cover – PRESS
2. THROTTLE – CHECK IDLE 2. External stores emerg rel button – PRESS
3. Monitor engine instruments for indication of Note
engine relight External tanks should be jettisoned with EXTERNAL STORES
EMERGENCY RELEASE
4. Land as soon as possible avoiding sudden
thrttle movements. EXTERNAL STORES EMERGENCY RELEASE
1. External store selector – SELECT STORE
If relight is not obtained: 2. Drop lock switch - READY
5. Rat handle - Out 3. Bomb release button – PRESS
After electrical power is obtained Note
6. Accomplish AIR START with step 1 trough 4 Bomb dropping is linked with “CENTER LANDING LIGHT ”
event on FSX.
AUTO-PITCH SYSTEM FAILURE
RAT EXTENDED IN FLIGHT
If the APC system fails, as indicated by
illumination of the AUT-PITCH CONTR OUT The Ram Air Turbine (RAT) is available for
warning light: emergency electrical and hydraulic power.
1. APC Switch – OFF Deploy RAT under these circumstance:
2. Observe the stick shacker boundary, kicker - Total hydraulic power
will be inoperative, exceeding AOA limit could - Total electrical failure
end with a pitch-up condition. - Flameout landing
- Seized or dead engine
WARNING
Pitch-up is most likely a not
recoverable condition that ends
with a crash and consequently a
SIM reset. Pitch-up is often followed
by an engine flame out.
IN-FLIGHT EMERGENCIES IN-FLIGHT EMERGENCIES
SPIN/PITCH-UP RECOVERY HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FAILURE
No. 1 and No. 2 Hydraulic System OUT
The fligh test on spin/pitch up recovery was
troughly investigated, both conditions are not 1. RAT – EXTEND
likely to be recovered, however having an high 2. Monitor hydraulic system pressure
altitude margin is a favorable condition.
High altitude spin and pitch up are more likely WARNING
recoverable.
In the event the airplane enter a pitch-up or spin - DC PRIMARY BUS not energized
following recovery actions should be taken: - ANTISKID not operative
1. THROTTLE – IDLE - Hydraulic powered brakes not
2. STABILIZER – FULL FORWARD powered, brakes efficiency reduces to
25%
If Spin/Pitch up conditions is recovered: - Landing gear should be lowered
3. THROTTLE - AS REQUIRED using the LANDING GEAR
4. STABILIZER – AS REQUIRED EMERGENCY EXTENSION HANDLE
If an engine flame out occurs:
5. Engine AIR START procedure- ACCOMPLISH

WARNING
Pitch-up is most likely a not
recoverable condition that ends
with a crash and consequently a
SIM reset. Pitch-up is often followed
by an engine flame out.
APPROACH AND LANDING EMERGENCIES APPROACH AND LANDING EMERGENCIES
BOUNDARY LAYER CONTROL MALFUNCTION LANDING GEAR EMERGENCY EXTENSION

If a BLC malfunction is experienced as manifested by a 1. Landing gear lever- DOWN

strong rolling tendency as the wing flaps travel to LAND
2. Manual landing gear release handle – PULL
position:
3. Anti-skid switch – OFF
1. Flaps – TAKEOFF CAUTION
2. TRHOTTLE adjust to minimize roll
- Landing gear manually extended
3. Fly final approach speed not less than 195 KIAS cannot be retracted
plus fuel correction (5 KIAS each 1000 pounds above 100)
4. Touch Down at not less than 160 KIAS plus fuel CABLE BARRIER ENGAGEMENT
correction (as above)
If a cable barrier arrestement is decided:
On final:
FLAP FAILURE 1. GEAR – DOWN AND LOCKED
2. FLAPS – AT LEAST TAKEOFF
NO FLAP LANDING 3. ARRESTING HOOK EXTEND
No flap landing requires high approach and 4. HOOK LIGHT – CHECK GREEN
touchdown speed during which manouverability On ground:
along pitch axis is critical, therefore a NO FLAP 5. HOOK LIGHT – CHECK YELLOW
landing can be done if a flat approach is made. 6. THROTTLE - IDLE
1. Fly a long flat approach, not above1000 at 3 7. maintain center of the RWY
8. Do not brake
NM preparing cable barrier engagement Engaging:
2. Final approach speed not less than 230 KIAS 9. HOOK LIGHT – CHECK RED
3. APC reading not above 2.5 When cable disingages and hook retracts
4. Touchdown speed not below 190 KIAS 10. HOOK LIGHT – CHECK OFF
5. Lowe nose and deploy dragchute 11. Proceed to normal taxi
WARNING
FLAP ASSYMETRY
- Arresting hook must be extended in
1. Flaps – TAKEOFF POSITION fight
2. Perform normal landing with TAKEOFF flaps
