Praxis Exam Analysis
Praxis Exam Analysis
The praxis exam is divided into three sections and is available to take each section
individually or together as a whole. The reading section requires a score of 156, the writing
section requires a score of 162, and the mathematics section requires a score of 150 in order to
pass. One is allowed to retake individual sections as needed if the passing score is not met.
Thankfully, the education department at CSN offers students with an education major, a
praxis preparation module. In this module students have access to pre and post tests that help one
practice with a couple of praxis like questions. There are also real practice tests and the answer
I did well on my pre-tests for mathematics yet on the actual practice test I did not do so
well. I believe this is due to the time limit as well as my test taking anxiety. To better prepare I
will keep in mind that the sections are timed when studying for my next attempt at the practice
tests. My hope is that I am able to pass the mathematics section with more ease than difficulty.
There will definitely be more revision of my past math course notes to help me study in the near
future. While my score upset me, I know I can improve it with determination. I am, however,
confident in my reading and writing scores as I did extremely; well on the practice tests.
Although my scores are enough to pass, I will continue to study and practice for those sections as
well.
