The Capstone strand I have chosen is service and occupation capstone.

How can I create an occupation that around my passions and service my community?

What is your inquiry question that interests you for further research? It should be a question that
connects with a purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that
you cannot just google an answer for. Please see examples from your Capstone booklet.
My inquiry question is:

What is my passions and how can I find a career that I love and also help others?

Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are
choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry connect
to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?

I chose this inquiry question because I need to plan a future career for myself, I need to find
what career I love and suit me, this will help me a lot in future. Also, I love helping others. I feel
happy if other people are getting better because of my help.

I study in class almost every day, and I think being a volunteer teacher is a profession that I
enjoy and help others with. I want my classroom to influence students and give them a vision for
their future career. Just like me, because the chemistry teacher in high school wants to be a
teacher in the future. At the same time, it can also help them overcome the difficulties in
learning. Before that, I worked as a teaching assistant in and out of class, helping other students
with their homework and helping teachers register the grades. I am in school every day, and I
have a general understanding of what it takes to be a teacher every day. Compared with other
occupations, I know more about how to be a teacher.

Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What
connections does this inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals?

My intended career area is teacher or tutor. Finding a career that I love is really important,
and this inquiry question helps me to think about what I want to do in the future, so I don't
feel lost. At the same time, it also inspired me to study hard and made me have more goals
for my future university application.

 Communication: Communication with students can help me understand their shortcomings

more clearly, and excellent communication skills can allow them to better accept knowledge
and advice
 Design electronic portfolio: A pleasing PPT (illustrated and textual) will make students
more interested in learning, and also make them more aware of the key points of the class
and master them.
 Time management: I need to schedule my own study time and teaching time so I can help
others without compromising my academic performance.

Description of my Capstone project. Specific Project Details of the Capstone Project: what
will you research, create, study, produce, solve, investigate? What product will be produced
at the end of this project for evaluation. Write a one-page description outlining your
proposal.

I will join a team of volunteers and be one of the counselors to mentor students with other
counselors. We will teach primary school Chinese courses to students in grade 4 and above
who have a certain Chinese foundation. We will hold a one-hour course every Monday, and the
content of the course will involve articles on appreciation of Chinese textbooks for primary
schools, appreciation of Chinese poetry, and popular science of ancient Chinese history.
Counselors will prepare a group lesson on Saturday or Sunday, with the purpose of assigning

 work and communicating the content of the class. We mainly use ppt to teach lectures, and use
Google to search for materials when necessary. At the end of class we give students a small
amount of homework to help them consolidate their knowledge in class. Not only does this
program help students who want to learn a second language, but it also brings the community
closer together. At the same time, I can gain some teaching experience and communication
skills during this process to become a teacher later.

My community will help me find students who need tutoring and help. It will also help me to
