Praxis Core Exam Analysis
Praxis Core Exam Analysis
Exam Requirements
After I graduate from CSN with my associate degree in Elementary Education, I plan on
attending Nevada State. If I plan on attending Nevada State and getting my bachelor’s degree, I
need to take the Praxis Core Exam, Math, Reading and Writing before I begin my classes there.
If I don’t then I will have to take a special Praxis course and pass it before I can move on. The
passing score for the Praxis Core Exam in Nevada for Math is 150. The passing score for the
Praxis Core Exam in Nevada for Reading is 156. The passing score for the Praxis Core Exam in
Exam Preparation
I did prepare a little bit before taking all three Praxis Core Exams. Since I do struggle a
bit in Math, I mostly studied that on Khan Academy Math. They had various courses for each
math and subject in that course. I really liked that you could practice and get points for each
question you get right. It also explains why that answer is that given answer. It really helped a lot
in my math section. I also read the ETS Math to learn more information about the test. I also
timed myself for 90 minutes and took it as if it was the real Math test. For my Reading and
Writing section I did not study a lot. I only read the ETS directions for Reading and Writing. But
for the majority of the studying, I only studied for Math and not for Reading and Writing.
Exam Results
I have attached 3 images of my results for my Reading, Writing, and Math. I am upset
about my results but I know that I did not study my Reading or Writing. I wasn’t able to take one
singular picture with the whole basic diagnostics so I hope this is okay. In Reading, I scored in
the 34% range. That means that I need substantial improvement and am very unlikely to pass the

Reading section when I take the official Praxis Core Exam. In Writing, I scored in the 50%
range. That means that I need improvement and am unlikely to pass the Writing section when I
take the official Praxis Core Exam. In Math, I scored in the 56% range. That means that I need
improvement and am unlikely to pass the Math section when I take the official Praxis Core
Exam.
For my Future Exam Preparation, I will be using the Praxis Core for dummies book to
study my Math, Reading, and Writing. I will also be using Khan Academy to practice my Math.
Professor Wycoff has also provided us with multiple websites to help us gain knowledge on what
the Praxis Core Exam is. She also provided us with links to free Praxis Prep websites that I will
be using. I will also be working with a tutor to help me on what I need most help on and to help
correct me on what I did wrong. I was a little surprised but I also didn’t study very much. My
environment was also very distracting and I had to pause my tests at times. So, for future
preparations I will be studying at the library where noise and distractions are very limited. My
essay did get deleted twice so I also had to rewrite that. For future preparations I will also make
sure that there are no technology issues that will impact my working environment. I have a lot to
work on but I know that if I actually study and take the time to actually take the test, I will do
just great and will be likely to pass all the sections on the official Praxis Core Exam.
