Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements

The point of taking the PRAXIS exam is to measure the academic knowledge of

individuals who are entering teaching programs. It measures content knowledge of the individual

in Math, Reading, and Writing. I plan on transferring to Nevada State College. A passing score

for the reading portion of the PRAXIS is 156. A passing score for the writing portion of the

PRAXIS is 162. A passing score for the math portion of the PRAXIS is 150.

Exam Preparation

To prepare for the test so far, I have taken practice tests, I have taken a couple math

classes to better my knowledge in the portions I have lost since being in grade school, and I plan

to take more PRAXIS prep before I officially take the test.

Exam Results

In math I scored, 72%. This mean I am borderline passing. I will be putting focus into preparing

for this position of the test.

In writing I scored, 73%. This mean I am borderline passing. I will be putting focus into

preparing for this position of the test.

In reading I scored, 57%. This means I need significant improvement in this area of the test. This

will be a major focus of mine while prepping for the test.

To further prepare myself for the exam, I plan to find a PRAXIS prep that allows study

guides, practice tests, videos, and measured improvement recommendations. I will take

advantage of the PRAXIS prep I have been provided by some professors, including the one from

this course. I might also get with previous peers from my education classes or find a group to

study with— peer study has been proven greatly beneficial to students.
