TASK 1
The Role of Surveyor, Developer, Contractor, Engineer, Architect and Local Authorities are very
important in ensuring the implementation of any construction project runs smoothly and
systematically. Hence, you are requiring to prepare a relevant writing;

a) The scopes, duties and responsibilities of key players in construction projects as stated above.
Distinguish each of their roles clearly.
Surveyor

• Land surveyor is the person who planning and design og land management.
• Also determining boundaries and establish reference mark for observation in construction
site.
• Prepare a high detail results of survey to show all easements,soil condition and structures on a
parcel.
• Surveyors will ensure and coordinate the position of each point is carried out on schedule and
planned.
Developer

• The main financiers of construction projects.

• To access the feasibility of a project.
• The appointment of a professional team to undertake the design and construction.
• Located attractive parcels of land, purchased acreage for a proposed subdivision, performed
necessary legal work and then erected homes constructed by the firm or by its subcontractors.
Contractor

• Creating a project plan to deliver it on time.

• Establish a budget for the construction project, and follow it as closely as possible.
• Making sure their staff has the right size and technical skills.
• Manage payroll for their own employees, and subcontractor payments.
• Responsible for tracking progress and managing any necessary changes.
• Acquire all the necessary permits and licenses before starting the project, while covering any
fees and taxes that apply.
• Guarantee health and safety in the construction site, by implementing adequate procedures
and raising awareness among workers.
• Responsible for the proper operation of equipment and preventing any accidents from misuse.
• Deals with any emergencies and unforeseen issues at the project site, and must report them to
the client’s supervision staff.
Engineer

• Focusing on the design and physical integrity of the building includes ensuring safety.
• Helping architects achieve their vision for the project.
• Taking into account constraints such as town planning legislation, environmental impacts and
project budgets.
• Completing planning applications and taking advice from local authorities, legal professionals
and governmental new build departments.
• Writing and presenting reports, proposals, applications and contracts.
 • Viewing building sites, proposed locations and client meetings.
Architect

• Design a building in keeping with the needs of consumers and the return of customers and
local authorities.
• Analyze customer needs and the proposed location before drawing was created based on the
concept of appropriate building design.
• Responsible for the building design plan and provide monitoring and supervising the work
during construction.
Local Authorities

• Prepare town and city plans and their associated basic development programs to promote the
improvement of various urban facilities, as well as area development and construction.

b) Preparation in terms of knowledge, skills and abilities required for a future Surveyor in the
involvement of construction projects in conjunction with the current Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Dalam era Revolusi Industri 4.0 ini,sesuatu pembangunan di zaman permodenan ini semakin maju
disebabkan tahap teknologi yang semakin canggih serta mencapai tahap kemajuan yang jitu.Oleh itu,
persediaan bagi seseorang juruukur perlu mempunyai persediaan yang rapi dalam pelbagai aspek
supaya dapat mencapai tahap professional.Persediaan dari aspek pengetahuan amat penting dalam
memastikan kecekapan dalam melakukan kerja-kerja pengukuran sebelum melakukan sesuatu
pembangunan.Jadi,seseorang yang ingin menjadi juruukur yang professional hendaklah mendalami
Ilmu pengukuran dengan lebih mendalam seiring dengan arus zaman permodenan ini.Selain itu,aspek
kemahiran juga sangat penting pada seseorang juruukur.Ini kerana pihak yang ingin melaksanakan
pembangunan kebanyakannya mereka ingin mencari juruukur yang mempunyai pengalaman yang
luas dan kemahiran yang tinggi dalam melakukan kerja-kerja pengukuran supaya pembangunan dapat
dilaksanakan dengan cepat dan berinovasi.Akhir sekali,kebolehan pada seseorang juruukur antara
aspek yang penting dalam melakukan kerja-kerja pengukuran.Tidak semua orang yang berminat
dalam kerja pengukuran mahir dalam semua kerja akan tetapi kebolehan dalam seorang dapat
menjadikan sesuatu kerja itu mempunyai kreativiti yang baik dan juga kecekapan dalam kerja
pengukuran.Kesimpulannya,persediaan yang perlu diberi perhatian terhadap juruukur dari segi
pelbagai aspek supaya pembangunan sesuatu negara dalam menjadikan contoh kepada negara-negara
lain untuk menjadi negara yang maju.
