The verb "to have" is the second most used verb in English after the verb “to be” which is in the first
place. In this language, the verb "have" has different uses as a main verb and as an auxiliary verb,
and can even adopt different meanings affected from the context in which it is used

«I have a bike»
would be translated in Spanish as "I have a bicycle", thus indicating that the subject owns a bicycle.
Similarly, when "to have" is the main verb, it can indicate an action, as in the sentence
Lisa has breakfast every morning
where the verb indicates that the action of having breakfast is carried out every morning, in Spanish
it would be: "Lisa takes breakfast every morning.".
When the "to have" is used as an auxiliary verb in English, in Spanish it is the equivalent of the verb
"haber", and is used to form more complex verb tenses, including the perfect tenses in English.
Conjugation of the verb «to have»
The verb "to have" is an irregular verb, which means that it changes its writing in the three
conjugations that it has in English: present, past and past participle. Let's see the conjugation of the
verb «to have» in English, according to the verb tense and the subject with which it is used, both for
affirmative and negative sentences.
Base form: have
The base form of the verb is the main one, and it is the one used when searching the dictionary. Its
main use is to construct the sentences in the imperative, and also to make the infinitive of the verb
by adding the word "to" in front of the verb.
