Mission: Test effectiveness of THE CUBE

Mission Authoring Coach: Bravo

Mission Goal: Determine whether THE CUBE is an effective routine, when and who it works best
for, and if it is still effective.

Description:

We have all heard about The Cube in The Game, on the Stylelife forum, in missions, or elsewhere.
It comes from the book The Cube: Keep The Secret. However a quick search on our forum reveals
pages of threads asking questions about this routine. This personality test will be put through the
Pick Up Labs testing.

Rationale:

Routines like The Cube can accomplish a few things at once. Not only is it a DHV by discussing
something interesting, it is an interesting way to find out a lot about someone in a very short time.
When you also explain it at the end it also puts you in a teaching / authoritative role which of
course is a great thing.

Instructions:

This week we will test The Cube. Watch the video that is posted on Pick Up Labs with this mission.
Take notes and test as soon as possible. Try to get on audio or video of you performing this
routine. Do not offer feedback on this unless you tested it! The point of Pick Up Labs is to separate
fact from fiction. If you test and it does not go well or if things go great, your input is valuable and
will help us in rating this routine.

Testing of The Cube:

1. When should someone perform it?

2. Can you open with The Cube?
3. How difficult is it to remember?
4. What level of comfort must be built before you can test?
5. Does this need to be performed in set or isolation?
6. Did you get called out on using this routine?
7. What is the hook point strength of this routine?
8. Rapport building strength?
9. Your PUA-AFC level?

Reason to test:

The Cube is one of the most popular routines in the community. Many new guys don’t want to use
it for fear of getting called out on but does that really even happen? If so is it still worth the risk for
an effective routine? Some try it once or twice and don’t perform it correctly and throw it away.
Once and for all we will test it and know who should use it and when.

Follow up:

Come back to this blog post after you test The Cube this weekend. Post links to any audio or video
you were able to capture. Post your results and your findings on the 1-9 list above by the end of
the day Monday. Tuesday there will be a new post where we crunch all of the data and either give
this routine the Pick Up Labs stamp of approval or mark it as unapproved. We will also begin
rating each routine so we know the strengths and weaknesses of each routine.

Since we are all building this from the ground floor add any addition thoughts in the comment
section as well for the routines, but only after your results for this one.
