FOR CHILDREN:
Family Empowerment
in Sikka, East Nusa Tenggara
Every child deserves the best start in life.
Every child deserves a better future.
Unfortunately, the world is not that fair.
Too many children from poorer and marginalized households are unable to access the support and care their needs.

Data from around the world show that children’s chances of getting a
quality of better life are lower if they come from poor families.
Children who grow up in poor living conditions are exposed to various social problems and risks associated with low quality of life.

The long-term experience of poverty will affect the development of a
child's personality. This leads to family dysfunction, stress among
caregivers, and inadequate parenting. Some parents here do not manage
to provide their children with sufficient basic needs for proper livelihood.
Many factors contribute to family poverty, including the minimum wage
for one or both parents. Some may 'inherit' poverty by being born into
certain social groups determined by race, class, and location.
