CAST – all the actors in a film / play


CREW – all the people involved in shooting a film
REHEARSAL – проба, DRESS REHEARSAL – генерална проба
ACT – a part of a play / musical consisting of several scenes (чин)
COMMENTARY – description of what is going on (e.g. when watching a sports match you hear
commentary as well as being able to see what’s happening)
REMAKE – a new modern version of an existing film
SUBTITLES – the text that shows the translations of what the actors are saying in a foreign film; compare
DUBBED;
OPENING SCENE – the first scene
REMINISCENT of sth –when sth reminds you of sth you’ve seen or experienced before
PILOT EPISODE – the episode that is intended to show whether a series will be popular
AIR – to air a program means to broadcast it on radio or television (we can also say that a program airs)

REPEAT (n) – a programme that has been broadcast before (=rerun)
CLIFFHANGER – part of a story or a film that keeps you in suspense (you don’t know what will happen
next, so you want to watch or read on – episodes often end in a cliffhanger)
END CREDITS – a list of all the cast and the crew that appear at the end of a film or TV program

RIVETING – interesting and exciting (story, plot, book, film)


OVERRATED – overestimated
GRIPPING – when a story, book or film is so exciting that it holds your attention completely and makes
you keep reading / watching it
INTRIGUING – interesting and mysterious
TEDIOUS – boring, dull
UNFORESEEN – unexpected, that you couldn’t foresee, i.e. predict
COMPELLING – very interesting
CAPTIVATING – interesting, exciting, attractive, impressive (очаравајући, CAPTIVATE – очарати)
TANGLED – complicated (замршен, упетљан)
DREARY – uninteresting, dull
ABSORBING – when sth is absorbing it holds your attention completely (=gripping, engrossing)
CONTRIVED – artificial, difficult to believe (усиљено, неуверљиво, неприродно, извештачено)
POIGNANT – making you feel sadness and pity (дирљив, болан)
