4. Which of the three theories can best explain the social change/s?
The town of Guinobatan, populated by some 74,386, is one of the largest in the Bicol
Region. Geographically, it is located in the center of the peninsula and on Legazpi-Naga
road (also in rail). It is the only town which has road link to Municipality of Jovellar. The
town Guinobatan is like a cornucopia bounded on the southeast by the Municipality of
Camalig; on the south by the Municipality of Jovellar; on the southwest by the
Municipality of Pioduran (Malacbalac); and on the northwest by the City of Ligao. On the
northeast, the town shares with Malilipot, Sto. Domingo, Daraga and Tabaco City and
with the City of Legazpi, a common point in the crater of Mayon Volcano. It was believed
that the aborigines of the Municipality of Guinobatan came from the costal parts
bordering the Albay gulf. Frequently bothered by the Muslims of Mindanao and Borneo,
these people were forced to move into the interior part. Some of these people settled in
the area which later became the Municipality of Guinobatan.
The said sports complex features an Olympic standard swimming pool, volleyball and
basketball courts, sepak takraw and sipa court, jumping fit for high jump, pole vault and
long jump, an oval track and a spacious grandstand. There is also a section in the
complex where 16 flagpoles stand distinctly; this was for the flags of the sixteen regions
which participated in the Palarong Pambansa.
The causes of social change are diverse. The four common causes recognized by are
technology, social institutions, population, and the environment. All four areas can
influence when and how society changes. The causes of social change listed below affect
and characterize every aspect of society around the world. At the macro level, they form
all the major social institutions (economics, politics, religion, family, education, science /
technology, military, legal institutions, etc.)One of the example was the technological
and Economic Changes like Agricultural Advances. Examples are irrigation, farming and
cotton gin, leads to excess food, which leads to population growth and urbanization.
One theories can be the best to decribed was the Conflict Theories because the
conflict theories are good at explaining social change and weak at explaining social
stability. Conflict theories have been criticized for failing to explain social stability and
gradual change.Conflict theory recognizes the existence of opposing forces within
society.Competition exists in society between classes for power, wealth and status. It
focuses on the competition between groups within society over limited resources.
Conflict theory views social and economic institutions as tools of the struggle between
groups or classes, used to maintain inequality and the dominance of the ruling class.
The effects of the social change's is the way human interactions and relationships
change cultural and social institutions over time and have a profound impact on
society. As a result of these social changes, relationships have changed, institutions have
changed, and cultural norms have changed.Change is inevitable. People and society
must face change. Human history explains the struggle between people and society for
the consequences of social change. Social change brings about two types of change, one
of which is a positive change that helps human life. Other types have the negative
direction that humans show resistance. Social development, social progress, and social
reform can be cited as positive changes. Natural disasters, threats from ecosystem
imbalances Ecosystem crises, wars, pests and famine are examples of negative changes
in society. Changes in one aspect bring about changes in other parts of society. Direct
changes are immediately apparent, but indirect impacts on other parts of society need
to be investigated. The degree of change may be small, but the impact is widespread
and slowly impacts the future. Technological changes have created a place for
industrialization, urbanization and modernization. These changes have brought about
new social problems such as slums, housing construction and rural urban migration.
