ITEC Lesson Plan Format

Teacher: Kelsey Brunelli Subject Area: Digital Citizenship Grade Level: HS

innovation.
L1.IC.SLE.02-Explain the privacy concerns related to the collection and generation of data through
automated processes that may not be evident to users
L1.IC.SLE.03-Evaluate the social and economic implications of privacy in the context of safety, law, or
ethics.
L1.IC.SLE.04-Using grade-level appropriate content and complexity, discuss the legal social, and ethical
impacts associated with software development and use, including both positive and malicious intent.

Learning Target (For the student's benefit, explain what students will be able to do by the
end of the lesson):

I can… identify and demonstrate the concerns of the internet and how to properly handle situation
and software.

Anticipatory Set (First activity to excite and focus students on the lesson for the day):
Activity: Student will get a set of note cards. They will pair up into groups of 3-4 students, what
they will do is have to make a skit that is at least 1-1.5 minutes. This skit is going to demonstrate
what we go over in class.

Guided Practice (List activities which will be used to guide student practice and include a
time frame for completing this practice.):
Activity 2: Students will complete the skits that they make and the students in the audience
will evaluate them. On the sheets they will put down what they think they talked about
during their performance.
Activity 3: The students as a class will work together to create rules that we can follow as a
school and class to better protect ourselves when using the internet. I will look them over
afterwards to see if they make sense.

Independent Practice (How will students be applying this knowledge or practicing this skill
independently): having the students quietly take a quiz on the rules on digital citizenship.

Check for Understanding (Identify strategies to be used to determine if students have


learned the objectives.):
Discussion: Teacher and students will discuss the video and activities on what happened in class.
What they learned and see happen in life.
