Both IR and UV/Visible absorption spectra were acquired for [Co(NH3)5Cl]Cl2, fresh product after ligand substitution.

Infrared spectra of solid samples were obtained with a Thermo Nicolet IR 100 using a Ge crystal Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) attachment. UV/Visible absorption spectra were obtained on a Hewlett-Packard 8453E Diode Array Spectrophotometer using quartz cuvettes (1.0 cm path length).
