ENGLISH TEST 6TH FORM

I
Name:________________________________________________________
Harry Jackson lives in Los Angeles. He enjoys being with his
family. Read what he says about his weekend with his family.
This weekend we got away from the city to celebrate one of the most important
events in our family after Christmas and Thanksgiving. We came to visit our
grandparents on the farm because today it is grandfathers 75th birthday and the whole
family decided to give him a big party. Grandmother invited all the relatives, my
parents, my brother, my sister, aunts, uncles and our cousins are helping to get
everything ready.
Uncle Richard and my father, Robert, are cooking on the grill outside. They are
grilling steaks, chicken, hamburgers and sausage. My mother and my aunts are helping
grandmother to make giant bowls of potato salad, French fries, tomatoes and fruit. My
cousins, Tom and Benny, are hanging the birthday balloons on the mailbox. While
Sarah and John are laying the table, Mark and David are clearing up the rest of the
garden.
Aunt Sally is a great cook so she is the one responsible for the birthday cake and I am
here by her side. Im looking after Jim, aunt Rosemarys baby, the youngest member of
our family.
Its good to have such a big family, we are close and we always try to help each
other. Im sure its going to be a great party!
