day. Unfortunately only the top 15 players and top four
teams advance to state, so Lagerquist will be the only girl
representing Glasgow.
"The wind was blowing around 30 mph," said
Truscott. "And Malta's golf course was super fast. That's
something we fought."

Glasgow hosted its invitational last Friday, May 6th
with the Scotties improving their regular-season record to
5-0. The Scotties finished with a 335 for the win. Smith led
all five Scotties in the top 10, carding 78. Feezell followed
with an 83, Ingram was right behind with an 85 and behind
him was Rhoads with an 89. Koski was sixth with a 96.
Lagerquist led the girls with a 121 for third and Stone
was fourth with a 122.
The day before The Glasgow Invitational the Scotties
were in Wolf Point for the Poplar Invite. The boys won
their fourth straight tournament, scoring a 340, which was
36 strokes in front of the rest of the field.
Smith carded an 81 with rounds of 39-42 to win the
tournament. This is his second win this season. Ingram
followed with an 83 and rounds of 37-46, Feezell was right
behind with rounds of 44-43 for an 87, Rhoads was eighth
with an 89 and rounds of 44-45. Koski rounded out the
team with a 98 for 14th and rounds of 48-50.
"We swept the regular season , that was pretty fun,"
said Truscott. "We had our best team score of the year. We
beat the second place team by 115. I've been a coach for 12
years and have never had that."
The Glasgow JV also participated with Carter
Hoerster scoring a 96, Sam Knierim 101, Michael Hoyer
108, and Ryan Rice 114.
Stone finished seventh in the girls meet with a 112
and it was her personal best.
Truscott feels that Columbus is the main competition
for his boys to battle. The Cougars are the top team in Class
B.
"We're going to have to take advantage of the practice
round and really work hard," he said. "It's a pretty long
course. We're going to have to kick it in the rear if we're
going to win it. I really think we will have better scores. The
kids are working hard. We just had a little blimp yesterday.
We'll get better."
Truscott really appreciates the fans and parents for
following the team throughout the season.
"We hope to see everybody at Fairmont," he said.

NOTICE
New property tax assessment notices will be mailed to Valley County
taxpayers June 1st. Any taxpayer dissatisfied with the Department of Revenue
appraisal of his or her property may file an appeal of that valuation with the
Valley County Tax Appeal Board.
The Valley County Tax Appeal Board will be in session from July 1 through
December 31, 2022, for the business of hearing property valuation and
classification appeals. In order to file a timely appeal, the taxpayer must file
the appeal within 30 days of receipt of Notice to Change Valuation
(assessment notice) with a final deadline of July 6, 2022, if no
assessment notice is received.
Property tax appeal forms are available by contacting the Department
of Revenue at the Valley County Courthouse, or online at www.mtab.mt.gov.
For any questions, please call the Department of Revenue at 406-228-6236.
Appeals must be filed with the County Clerk and Recorder who will notify the
County Tax Appeal Board to schedule a hearing.
Lobbyists Concerned Over Rising Cost Of Politicians
WASHINGTON, D.C.— In increasing numbers,
lobbyists say they are not exempt from the rising
costs for food, gas, and other necessities. Paying
off congressmen is more expensive than ever,
lobbyists confirm, due to inflation and economic
mismanagement.
“We got comfortable,” confessed Exxon Mobil
Lobbyist Flitch Vandersneed. “We thought D.C. would
always continue being a wretched hive of graft and
corruption where we could buy and sell congressmen
for cheap. Now, with inflation and increased
competition from China, it can cost millions to buy
out a corrupt senator to vote our way on a bill.”
The lobbyist went on to bemoan how a simple
“bada-bing, bada-boom, pay the cash, clear the room”
job had become unaffordable even for the wealthiest
corporations needing to empty a town for a new
factory installation.
Other lobbyists joined in and traded stories,
recounting “the glory days” when they could buy a
local mayor for less than $250,000, a representative for
a seat on their board, or a Senator for early access to
insider trading stock tips.
BNSF Maintenance Crew Working
Through Crossings In Valley County
Residents Please be Advised
of Short-term Closures
BNSF Railway is conducting maintenance
between Glasgow and Hinsdale. Individual
crossings will be closed temporarily as the
crew works through specific locations.
BNSF’s capital commitment in Montana is primarily focused
on maintenance projects that help ensure BNSF continues to
operate a safe and reliable network. The largest investment
is for replacing and upgrading rail, rail ties and ballast, which
are the main components for the tracks on which BNSF trains
operate. Regular maintenance of the railroad allows BNSF to
keep its network infrastructure in optimal condition.
The railroad crossings between Glasgow and
Hinsdale. Crews will work east to west, starting
west of Glasgow. Notices will be posted at each
crossing 24 hours before work begins.
Work will occur from Sunday, April 17, 2022
through Friday, May 20, 2022. Crews plan to work
nightly from 10 pm to 6 am.
