Harvest Expansion

Setup

This expansion contains 1 new exploration board, new goods as well as components for added
variety in the harvest phase and in the 6-round game.

Place the new goods next to the goods boxes (or in them if there is still enough room).

Put the new exploration board with the others, with the Isle of Mull side facing up.

Shuffle the 4 harvest tokens and pick one at random. Place it facing up on the phase 2
space on the Round Overview tile. Shuffle the remaining 3 tokens with the 4 'no-harvest-
tokens' and put them face down nearby for the later rounds.

Draw two light brown occupation cards (instead of just 1) and pick one during setup.
Discard the other card before beginning the first round. Harvest tokens & round

Occupation cards
Remove the following cards from the game: 52 a, 107 B, 115 b, 125 c, 150 c, 163 a, 170 a, 189 B

In addition to the banned cards, we recommend removing the following cards from the game. However, if you
prefer to play with a larger selection feel free to leave them in:
1 A, 8 a, 21 b, 28 B, 41 a, 42 b, 45 C, 46 B, 56 A, 96 A, 97 B, 99 A, 101 B, 104 b, 106 B, 124 B, 133 B, 134 A, 135
A, 138 c, 139 C, 157 C, 158 A, 161 B, 162 C, 174 a, 175 B, 177 B, 180 C, 190 B

Additional setup for the 7-round game

Starting with the last player in the turn order and going counter-clockwise, pick 1 resource token each and put it by
your home board, with the orange side facing up.

Additional setup for the 6-round game

Each player gets 3 silver and 1 additional random weapon card.

Starting with the last player in the turn order and going counter-clockwise, pick 1 resource token each and put it by
your home board, with the orange side facing up. Once that's done, repeat the procedure for a second time.

If you are playing with the Norwegians expansion: Instead of randomly drawing an artisan shed, you choose 1
each, starting with the last player in the turn order and going counter-clockwise. This shed starts out 'built' by your
home board.

If you are not playing with the Norwegians expansion: Draw 2 dark brown occupation cards and pick 1. You play
this card for free along with your first action. Discard the other card before beginning the first round.
Course Of Play

Phase 2: Harvest
The harvest tokens replace the normal harvest order. You receive the goods depicted on the harvest token (or none,
if a 'no-harvest-token' is flipped). Additionally, you receive the resource(s) depicted on your individual resource
token.

After the harvest, the harvest token is removed from play and a new one is flipped at random. Put the new token on
the Round Overview tile. Everyone turns their resource token to the side matching the colour of the new harvest
token.

Phase 3: Turn exploration boards

Turn the Isle of Mull in the corresponding round (B), so that Caithness is showing. Place silver per the usual rule.

Phase 5: Actions
To get the Isle of Mull exploration board, you need any ship (whaling boat, knarr or longship) and must place 1
viking on the appropriate space in the first column.
To get the Caithness exploration board, you need a longship and must place three vikings on the appropriate space
in the third column (or alternatively 4 in the fourth column, if playing with the Norwegians expansion).

Phase 10: Bonus

There are new bonuses on the new exploration board:

• Sword weapon card

• You get the 'Altar' special tile and 1 stone when you get the bonus for the first time. In subsequent rounds,
you only get 1 stone. (If the Isle of Mull board wasn't taken, remove the 'Altar' special tile from play when
the Isle of Mull board is turned over.)

Do you like Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was
a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out
in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially
and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound,
and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really
gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis
Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense
of humor. In '87, Huey released this; Fore!, their most
accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is
"Hip To Be Square". A song so catchy, most people probably
don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just
about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of
trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.
Hey, Odin!
