Reflection

INTRODUCTION
This is the reflection about video recording of presentation. Reflection is common
used in classroom to encourage students to think about and articulate what they have learned.
I will do my reflections based on the process, such as the planning stage of the video, the
challenges and how i overcome the challenges. How i put the creativity items in my video
recording. What might be the advantages and disadvantages of my video recording. Besides, I
will also show my video to one person to gain some opinion from someone.

There is a great amount of planning that needs to be done before i can proceed with
producing a video. Proper preparation and execution of the entire production process is
critical in delivering an effective product. From the beginning, i will think about the topic
which i want to present. Then i will search the material online and books. After this, I will
draw a mind mapping.

1) Define the goal

Defining the goal of the video is the first and arguably most important step in producing a
video because every subsequent step should correlate to the overall goal.

2) Develop a concept and create a story

My story should tell what makes me unique. One of the main factors in developing the
concept for a video is to consider the audience and determine how to make an emotional
connection with that audience.

3) Pre-production

There are many steps involved in the pre-production process alone. Pre-production is
arguably more important than filming. Thorough preparation prior to a shoot date can
prevent a number of problems from arising on the day of a shoot or during the editing
process.
 For this video recording, I decided myself as a director and the producer.
The timeline of completing the visual aids accompanying the recording took
6 minutes 39 second. I spent two days for recording my video. Creativity and innovation are
very important in a presentation especially to attract the audiences. Creativity helps me see
things differently and better deal with uncertainty. So, i used Google Meet to do my
presentation. During the Malaysia movement control order, using Google Meet doing the
presentation is one of the suitable choice.

There are some advantages of PowerPoint for Digital Signage over traditional
presentation.

1) Cost-efficient

With PowerPoint, you do not have to buy other forms of presentation tools and software.
PowerPoint comes with Microsoft Office, which can be used to create, change, and update
the content at no additional cost. Today there are a lot of traditional presentation tools and
software’s that can cost you a lot.

2) Informative

PowerPoint can allow you to inform your target audience with relevant content which can be
easily updated. Use it to relay any format of information such as video, audio, text to internal
and external parties such as your customers, visitors, or the general public. Traditional
presentation editors do not cover most multimedia formats.

3) Ease of use with its drag and drop feature

PowerPoint is globally used, and its popularity is largely driven by its ease of use. It’s by far
easier to use for a digital signage presentation than traditional presentation software’s.
4) Effective

PowerPoint can effectively control your content from a central platform and update it with no
more than a few clicks. With PowerPoint, collaboration is seamless as you can opt for cloud-
based PowerPoint (Office 365), which can allow other team members to have access and
update the file anywhere and anytime.

When i showed my video to one of my family’s members, she told me that my video was an
informative type. She said that might some improvement for the video recording such as open
to the audiences asking and answering.

CONCLUSION
I felt that my presentation need to be improve such as i must develop a personal
speaking style. I make up for it by packing my presentation with unique and useful content as
well as some jokes. If possible, practice with the microphone and lighting, be aware of any
distractions potentially posed by the venue ( e.g, a noisy road outside). I will chat with people
before my presentation. Talking with audiences makes me seem more likeable and
approachable. For my next presentation, i must ask event attendees questions and take in their
responses.

From the video recording of my presentation, i learnt the new skill especially Google
Meet which i never used before. Digital signage provides a daily flow of interactive,
responsive, and user-friendly information. Without a presentation application, this would not
be possible. Presenting information clearly and effectively is a key skill in getting your
message across.
