Mr. Justine Manaig

Lab Director
Manila Doctors Hospital
667 United Nations Avenue, Ermita
Manila City, Metro Manila, 1000

Dear Mr. Manaig,

I would like to take this opportunity to apply for the Medical Technologist position of Manila Doctors
Hospital Laboratory. I cannot tell you how pleased I was to see your ad in this morning’s paper. I have
attached my resume for your perusal and convenience which you can read at your leisure.

In today’s technologically advanced society, the medical field needs technologist who are highly skilled
and passionate about helping people. It also needs workers who are willing to work as part of a team
and can perform complicated tests. I believe that I possess both the necessary skills and the personality
to be an excellent medical technologist. As noted on my resume, I have a demonstrated ability to
perform technical procedures in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and microbiology areas. I can meet
the projected standards for quality and correctness in the analysis of specimens. My thirst for making
discoveries is a trait that does not let me sit idle at my workplace, even in the event of little work.

My education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science with High Honors and a GPA
of 1.473 in Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas Campus and I am registered with the American
Society of Clinical Pathology. Shortly after graduation, I was recruited by Batangas Medical Center to
serve as a Medical Technologist for its laboratory center. In this role, I manage medical lab operations
that include:
 Collecting, processing, and testing specimens per appropriate techniques and clinical
protocols.
 Reviewing relevant laboratory reports for clinical error before they are reported to the
patient’s medical record.
 Documenting lab data, test results, analysis, and other information into LIS and EMR
systems.
 Operating lab equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators and blood bank
refrigerators.
 Interpreting laboratory findings and handling technical report writing activities.

I also worked closely with physicians efficiently and accurately conducting requested tests after properly
logging the specimen number patient name and what tests are going to be run. In some cases, I’ve been
asked to conduct direct specimen examinations like counting and recording cell counts. My sense of
organization and detail-oriented approach to work makes me an ideal candidate for this type of work.
While I was attending classes at LPU Batangas, I worked as a lab assistant in the biology department at
the request of Prof. Chona Portin. It was she who suggested I might fit very nicely in a teaching hospital
like Manila Doctors Hospital. My experience has taken me from a local blood bank to a medical clinic to
a community hospital.

I feel the Manila Doctors Hospital’s opening for a Medical Technologist has come at the perfect time and
I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience to discuss this opportunity further. I can
be reached at any time by calling (+63)-906-553-1740. If you prefer, you can send me an email with a
meeting time to opelaniorhoja10@gmail.com. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully yours,

Rhoja Clandestine N. Opelanio
