Aotearoa Music Award for Best Māori Artist

Introduction to Aotearoa Music Award for Best Mā ori Artist

Best Mā ori Artist is an Aotearoa Music Award that honours New Zealand music artists for
outstanding recordings which reflect a unique Maori identity and/or are an expression of an
artist’s Maori culture. The nominated work can be in te reo Maori, English or be bilingual.
The award is presented annually at the New Zealand Music Awards where the winner
receives a Tui trophy.
The award was established in 1992 as Best Maori Album, however it was soon criticised for
being too broad. The category was withdrawn in 1994 and 1995, and relaunched in 1996 as
two separate categories: Best Mana Maori Album and Best Mana Reo Album. From 2004, the
award reverted to only the Best Maori Album category. In 2017 the award was changed to
Best Maori Artist with the entry criteria changed to require either an album or a minimum
of five single releases in the eligibility period. The award was not presented in 2005, 2009
and 2010 due to insufficient entries.
In 2015, the presentation of the Best Maori Album award was not shown in the live
broadcast, as the network cut to an ad break, resulting in complaints from viewers and
musicians.

Prunus rivularis

Quiz 1 Prunus rivularis

Prunus rivularis, known variously by the common names creek plum, hog plum, or wild-
goose plum is a thicket forming shrub. It prefers calcareous clay soil or limestone-based
woodland soils. This deciduous plant belongs to the rose family, Rosaceae, and is found
mainly in the central United States. It is a shrub consisting of slender stems with umbel
clusters of white blossoms. The fruit is a drupe that resembles a large berry; though it has a
bitter taste, it serves as a source of food for birds and other wildlife. "Prunus" is Latin for
plum, whereas "rivularis" means being near a stream.

The leaves are simple and alternately arranged along the stems. The general shape of the
leaf ranges between elliptic and ovate and is gauged out to be 5-6 centimeters (2.0-2.4

Birmingham Cup

NoteBirmingham Cup

The Birmingham Senior Cup is a football competition for Birmingham County FA club
teams, organised by the Birmingham County Football Association. It began in 1876 and is
the oldest county cup competition still active. The Birmingham Senior Cup is a regional cup
contest, which has featured all of the West Midlands' big clubs, Aston Villa, Birmingham
City, Burton Albion, Coventry City, Port Vale, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, Walsall
and Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, in recent years many of region's higher division
clubs have tended to treat the cup as a reserve or youth team competition, giving non-
league sides a greater chance of success, while the competition's most successful team,
Aston Villa, did not compete at all for several years, before returning for the 2018-19
competition. In the 2016–17 season, Leamington became the first team to win the cup in a
