About the Instructors:


Teresa Heithaus, MSN, RN-BC has been a
nurse for more than 30 years. Her nursing experience is varied including areas of critical care to high-tech home care and most recently in staff development. She developed and presently coordinates online nursing educational endeavors for her current employer on the intranet, internet, and social media sites. Teresa has mentoring experience in an online nursing college. She enjoys engaging in social media and is known as @Nurse Educator on Twitter and her blog site is entitled, Staff Development Behind the Firewall.Teresa holds a BSN from SUNY @Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She attained an MSN from the University of Phoenix distance learning program. Her practicum project of spearheading the building of a comprehensive nursing education intranet website paved the way for her current position. Teresa is ANCC Board certified in Professional Nursing Development and previously held NBNSC certification in nutrition support. In 2009 Teresa received the National Nursing Staff Development Organizations Excellence in Educational Technology Award.

Upon completion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

Kelly Moed, MSN, RN-BC Since 1991 as a staff


development instructor, Kelly has consistently encouraged nurses to engage in lifelong learning through participation in continuing education in all forms as well as advanced degree programs and specialty nursing certification. Kelly has led by example and achieved ANCC certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing as well as Nursing Professional Development. In 1987 Kelly attained her BSN. In 2007 she completed her MSN via distance learning while raising two children and maintaining her position at an acute care facility. Kelly is an advocate for the well being of all nurses. In 2007 Kellys MSN research utilization project for a Safe Patient Handling and Movement (SPHM) Program was adopted by her institution. Kelly coordinates the SPHM educational activities at her institution and continues to be a strong advocate for the SPHM.
