Quantitative Techniques II

Course Description

This course offers exposure to a wide variety of quantitative optimisation techniques used in various
business situations ranging from strategy to sales and marketing to operations and production to HR
and related management decision areas. The course sets the Factual, Conceptual, Procedural and Meta
cognitive knowledge foundation to appreciate, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate and create
analytics solutions to management problems.

Course Objectives

1. Develop overall perspective of quantitative techniques (Part 2) and its varied applications in
business.

2. Appreciate and apply conceptual, procedural and meta cognitive knowledge gained from
understanding these quantitative techniques (in Part 2).

3. Evaluate, analyse and find solutions to analytical problems constructed in business situations.

Course Outcomes

1. Understand the need and utility of quantitative techniques in management decision making
process.

2. Demonstrate a good understanding of factual, conceptual and procedural knowledge in

applying the learnt quantitative techniques (Part II).

3. Comprehend problems faced in management function in light of these knowledge to

remember, understand and apply the techniques.

4. Analyse, Evaluate and Create appropriate solutions to solve the identified quantitative
problem.
