Assalamualaikum. Wr. Wb
Good morning, greetings to all of us.

I respect the lecturer of English course, Mrs. Ira Nurmala, SS., M.Pd and all my
friends who I am proud of

First of all, let us praise and give thanks for the presence of Allah SWT for
bestowing His mercy and grace so that we can attend and gather in this place.
Don't forget to send our shalawat and greetings to our great Prophet Muhammad
SAW. Hopefully we are all the people of the Prophet who will get help and
intercession in the last yaumul

On this occasion I stand here to deliver a speech about malnutrition in toddlers.

Friends that I'm proud of,

Malnutrition is a health disorder that occurs when the body does not get enough
nutrition. Malnutrition usually occurs in infancy. The toddler period is a very
important period because it is a critical period in an effort to create quality human
resources.

Friends that I'm proud of,

Failure to thrive that occurs due to malnutrition in infancy will have a bad impact
on the next life that is difficult to repair. Children who suffer from malnutrition
(stunted) have an average IQ of 11 points lower than children who are not
malnourished (UNICEF, 1998). In addition, malnutrition can also cause delayed
motor skills, decreased endurance, and stunted physical growth.

Friends that I'm proud of,

Malnutrition can be caused by inadequate intake, weak socio-economic
conditions, lack of parental knowledge, poor hygiene and sanitation, and exposure
to sources of infection and pollution.
Friends that I'm proud of,
In the intregrated healthcare center, Cards Towards Health (KMS) have been
provided which can also be used to predict children's nutritional status based on
the KMS curve. Pay attention to the child's age first, then plot their weight in the
KMS curve. If it is still within the green line, then the nutritional status is good, if
it is below the red line, then the nutritional status is poor. Parameters commonly
used to determine nutritional status in toddlers are weight, height, and head
circumference. Head circumference is often used as a measure of nutritional status
to describe brain development.

Friends that I'm proud of,

To overcome the case of undernourished children under five requires the role of
families, health practitioners, and the government. The government must improve
the quality of the intregrated healthcare center, not only for weighing and
vaccination, but must be improved in terms of nutrition education and the quality
of providing additional food, the government must be able to improve people's
welfare so that food access is not disturbed.

Friends that I'm proud of,

In addition to the role of the family and government, malnutrition in children
under five can also be prevented by providing nutritious food, avoiding junk food
or sugary drinks, routine health checks at the intregrated healthcare center or
public health center, especially measuring height and weight, if possible provide
nutritional supplements for child growth and development. optimally, and give
exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months of birth.

So, give your toddler a nutritious diet. Monitor the nutritional status of your
toddler by maintaining weight and periodically weighing your toddler at least
once a month. This effort is one way to monitor the development of nutritional
status in toddlers.
That's the speech I delivered today, I apologize if there are shortcomings in my
delivery. Hopefully what I say can be useful and beneficial for all of us.

Finally, I say Wabillahi Taufik Wal Hidayah

Wassalamualaikum Warohmatullahi Wabarakatu.
Thank you.
