CREATIVE WRITING
Grade 12

Content Standard: The learner understands the distinction between and among creative
nonfiction types and forms.

Performance Standard: The learner competently delivers an artistic presentation summarizing and analysing
the form, theme

Most Essential Learning Competencies:

Write a craft essay demonstrating awareness of and sensitivity to the different literary and/or socio-


political contexts of creative writing

I. Specific Objectives: At the end of the lesson the students are expected to;

a. Identify the different literary and/or socio-political contexts of Creative Writing


a. Understand the purpose of understanding the different literary and/or socio-
political contexts of Creative Writing
b. Compose essays showing sensitivity to the literary and socio-political contexts.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Craft Essay


Reference: Creative Essay Today
Materials: Laptop, Chalk, Worksheet
Values Integration: Creativity, Teamwork

III. Procedure

A. Greetings: The teachers greets the learners with zest and check the attendance

B. Motivation: AHA Moment via Activating Prior Knowledge

C. Analysis: THINKERCISES: After the motivation activity, the learners will answer the following
questions;

1. Have you experienced reflecting on the overall meaning of the text after reading?
2. Have you tried reflecting on the values and views of the author?
3. Did you think about the whole context of the literary piece in order for you to understnd
the meaning of text.

D. Abstraction: Presentation of the topic. The topic will be presented in class using
PowerPoint presentation. The following are to be discussed/demonstrated:

1. Two Kinds of Literary Works


2. What is Essay?
3. What is Context?
4. Kinds of Literary Context
E. Application: Differentiated Group Activity. Learners will be grouped according to their unique
learning style (auditory learners, visual learners, readers etc.)

ØVisual artists will do a poster-slogan and explain their work about their concept on Different
Literary and/or SocioPolitical Contexts of Creative Writing

ØMusicians will compose a song verse or chorus about Different Literary and/or SocioPolitical
Contexts of Creative Writing and sing via sending your videos in our page.

ØPoets will make a 2 stanza poem about Different Literary and/or SocioPolitical Contexts of
Creative Writing

Ø Actors will do a 30 second to 1 minute short skit along with a family member about your
learnings on Different Literary and/or SocioPolitical Contexts of Creative Writing

G. Evaluation: In your own words, write your understanding on how to develop sensitivity to the
literary and socio-cultural contexts in creative writing. Write your answers inside the creative
organizer provided in module.

F. Enrichment/Assignment: Write a short 150-word craft essay about a current issue or a socio-
political situation that is very relevant in our society today. Write your craft essay with a title on
a short bond paper in Arial size 12 font. In your creative work, demonstrate or apply awareness
of and sensitivity to the different literary and /or socio-political contexts of creative writing.Note:
RUBRIC FOR WRITING COMPOSITION WILL BE POSTED IN OUR CREATIVE WRITING
