CAT Syllabus Section I. DI / DS / LR This section had 38 questions of which Section I A had 26 questions with 1 mark per question while Section I B had 12 questions with 2 marks per question. In Data Interpretation of the 20 questions, 16 were of easy to medium level of difficulty while 4 were difficult. In Data Sufficiency of the 6 questions, 4 were of easy to medium level of difficulty while 2 were difficult. In Logical reasoning of the 12 questions, 8 were of easy to medium level of difficulty while 4 were difficult. Students had the opportunity to attempt 28 questions of easy to medium level of difficulty in the allotted time. In all an attempt of 20 questions (16 - I A & 4 - I B) with an accuracy of 85% was sufficient to clear the cut-offs assuming 25% negative marking. Broadly this section had 35 questions of which Section II A had 20 questions with 1 mark per question while Section II B had 15 questions with 2 marks per question. In Section II A, there were 8 questions which were sitters, 11 of medium level of difficulty and 1 difficult question. In Section II B, there were 9 questions which were of medium level of difficulty while 6 questions were difficult. Students had the opportunity to attempt 28 questions ranging from easy to medium level of difficulty in the allotted time. In all an attempt of 20 questions (15 - II A & 5 - II B) with an accuracy of 85% was sufficient to clear the cut-offs assuming 25% negative marking. Section III. Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension Area Verbal Ability Reading Comprehension No. of Qts 29 21
Section III A comprised 45 questions with 21 questions of Reading Comprehension and 24 questions of Verbal Ability, while Section III B comprised 5 questions, all of which were from Verbal Ability. In reading comprehension 11 questions were easy, 8 questions were medium and 2 questions were difficult. In verbal ability 13 questions were easy, 9 questions were medium & 2 questions were difficult.
Section III B comprised 5 questions of which 2 were medium and 3 were difficult. Students had the opportunity to attempt 45 questions ranging from easy to medium level of difficulty. However, within the allotted time an attempt of 30 questions (20 VA + 8 RC III A & 2 VA - III B) with an accuracy of 85% was sufficient to clear the cut-offs assuming 25% negative marking. Cut-offs For calls from all the IIMs the expected sectional cut-offs would be DI/DS/LR 19 - 21 Problem Solving 19 - 21 VA/RC 23 - 25 Net Score 65+

NITIE, SP Jain, MDI Gurgaon, MICA, would be 55+ TAPMI, Nirma, IMT, KJ Somaiya would be 45+
