An acid denoted by H, X04 is suspected to have a killingeffect on


cockroaches. It is suspected that the killing effect is due to its basicity.

Your task is to investigate the basicity of this acid.

(a) (i) Using a measuring cylinder measure accurately ten 5 em"


aliquots of FA into each test tube.

Pippete 25 ern"of F Al into a plastic cup and record its temperature.

Add the 5 crrr' aliquots of FA2 successively into a plastic cup


containing 25 em' of F Al recording the highest temperature
reached after each addition in Table 1.

Repeat the experiment two more times recording your results in
