Quick Summaries
Chapter 1
- Introduced to victor, also the narrator
- Introduces his adoptive sister, Elizabeth
- Frakenstiens are like family?
Chapter 2-3
- Victor has a deep interest in science as he grows older, fascinated by the mysteries of the
natural world
- Looked at very “do not do” types of projects that would get him in trouble
- Took and interest in electricity.
- Mother dies from scarlet fever and her last dying wish was for Victor and Elizabeth to
marry.
- Victor delved into his studies and figures that becoming a doctor is useless so then he
focuses on chemistry.
Chapter 4-6
- By ignoring his family and focusing on his academics, he was able to make rapid
progress in his work.
- Continued to be fascinated by th ework of evolving the human race.
- In order for this he beings to learn about the human anatomy.
- Privately, Victor decides to work on a creature and becomes intensely obsessed with it.
- After months of work & dedication victor creates an awful looking humanoid.
- In attempts to run from it, it follows. Instead he makes his way to a friends home, Henry.
- Henry expresses his concerns and tells victor that it may be best for him to be near his
family
- Victor is sent a letter by Elizabeth, in which Henry reads.
- Elizabeth in the letter says she is concerned about victors mental health and victor warns
her.
- Henry is trying to show Victor the beauty of the outside.
Chapter 7-8
- Victors return to Uni, his father hands him a letter that says his brother was murdered.
- Prompting for Henry and Victor to return to the scene in which they see the word
“monster” written and Victor makes the connection
- Put on trial for being somewhere he shouldnt be, guilt falls on Victors shoulders as he
relaizes that he has done something horrendous
Chapter 9-10
- His father takes him out as to get him out of his mind and it works?
- Victor sets out to kill this creature he has created but the monster then pleads for his life.
- Leaves monster alive?
Chapter 11-13
- Creature is talking about its new found life and how confusing it was, learning to speak,
interact with people
- Family feels I guess
Chapter 14-15
- Learning about history and family history by listening to others, copying, and
eavesdropping
- Also providing for the family by bringing in food, and supplies.
- Gets items in return for his good behavior such as books.
- Runs away after being attacked
Chapter 16-18
- Reflecting on the family rejection, finds a boy he wants to be friends with but is rejected
once again but this time provoked by the child calling him a name “frakenstien”
- Kills the boy
- Wants a girl around and asks victor to create one but victor refuses
- Victor fears his creation a bit because of its rather large size compared to him.
- Flips back and forth on feelings about his creation victor but because he is marrying
elizabeth
Chapter 19-21
- Victor decides to camp out with Henry in England because that is where he is getting
married.
- Victor has a little lab going on and has Henry finish it for him
- Victor believes that it is best to stop his current project because it would be best but his
creation becomes angered by that thought and thinks about killing victor.
- Strnager tells victor to follow him and he does so and finds henry’s corpse.
- Victor finds that the monster is killing everyone that he loves
- In order to get away he goes home to elizabeth.
Chapter 22-24
- Victor gets happily married a while after speaking to his father and telling him about his
creation and how it killed so many people
- Father doesnt believe it tho
- Shortly after marrying victor, elizabeth dies to the monster
- Victor sets out to kills the monster he created
- Victor is dedicated to finding what he created, setting traps in the forest and yada yada
