SUBJECT: Reiterating the Request for Co-Management Agreement of the

Abandoned Integrated Forest Management Agreement (IFMA) No. 04-2010
of Pompeo Manalang located at Sitio Kabul-kabul Brgy. Mananum-Daan,
Medina Misamis Oriental

Dear Sir,

I would like to respectfully make a reiteration of the request of the Local Government
Unit of Medina, Misamis Oriental (LGU-Medina) for co-management of the abandoned
Integrated Forest Management Agreement (IFMA) No. 04-2010 of Pompeo Manalang
located at Sitio Kabul-kabul Brgy. Mananum-Daan, Medina Misamis Oriental.

It has come to my knowledge that IFMA No. 04-2010 issued to Pompeo Manalang has
recently been cancelled and the area is now declared vacant and all improvements
introduced and found therein, including bond deposit, if any, are forfeited in favor of the
Government through the DENR. Further, as stated in a Memorandum dated December
10, 2019 of then FMB Director Nonito M. Tamayo, “Upon cancellation of the IFMA, the
area shall now become open access and the area maybe awarded to the concerned LGU
under an appropriate tenurial instrument.”

In this respect, I would like to humbly take this opportunity to follow up on the request of
LGU-Medina for co-management of the recently cancelled IFMA No. 04-2010 primarily
for the purpose of agri-tourism development.
