PROJECT TITLE
“STUDY ON TALENT ACQUISITION IN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY”

Literature Review
In recent years, the topic of talent acquisition has piqued the interest of many researchers.
Because human capital is seen as the most critical factor in gaining a competitive edge, most
companies invest heavily. However, there are several fundamentals they should learn as their
first steps toward a better knowledge and implementation of talent acquisition specific to the
automotive industry. There is a significant need for abilities in organizations in the automotive
domain during the present economic downturn. While most firms have implemented talent
management, several unsolved challenges need to be examined in all industries. This research
aims to look into how organizations manage their talent. This is a descriptive research project.
Data is gathered by reading relevant journal papers. As a result, the study relies heavily on
secondary data. The purpose of the war on talent, the definition and relevance of talent
acquisition, and the main success criteria of talent acquisition are all discussed in the paper.

Introduction
Attracting, developing, and retaining leadership, management, and technical talent has become a
top concern for CEOs and their executive teams. While this is not a new task for top executives,
it has become more crucial than ever due to the automobile industry's technology, business
model, and consumer preference upheavals. These difficulties will be especially severe for
automotive companies, OEMs, and suppliers, and how they respond will determine who wins
and who loses in the coming decade. To understand how this unprecedented change will affect
automotive companies and their approach to talent, I have researched various aspects of Talent
Acquisition within the automotive sector. This research paper has a detailed and profound
understanding of the multiple strategies and business paradigms that numerous companies in the
automotive industry deal with.

The inquisitiveness that arises to study the Talent Acquisition with in the field of Automotive is
due to the disruptive phase that the automotive sector is facing, i.e., disrupted the supply chain
and low customer demand due to covid-19 has indirectly and profoundly impacted the domain of
human resources management and how in these exceptional conditions Human Resources
Professionals reacting and dealing with the situation with its best expertise and various adoption
of strategies.

Research Questions
Some of the important research questions are as follows:
 Does Talent Acquisition Process in Automotive Industry differ from other industries?
 What can be done to lower the cost of acquiring new talent?
 What impact does corporate branding & image have on talent acquisition?
 What strategies do Human Resources Personnel adopt in the alarming situation?
 Should Talent Acquisition be outsourced, and if yes, why?
 How is technology acting as a catalyst in the whole Talent Acquisition Process?
The above-stated questions are the primary questions associated with my research; the rest of the
other questions and intricacies will be dealt with as the process goes.

Research Methodology
A mix of primary and secondary data will be used in the study process. Secondary data will
come from various sources, including articles, blogs, websites, research papers, and online
publications. A literature review will help us gain a better understanding of the subject. Data
obtained from students who have gone through the talent acquisition process as candidates and
data collected from persons who work as talent acquisition experts can be used in primary
research. This will enable us to incorporate feedback from both sides of the TA process. After
that, quantitative and qualitative tools can analyze the data.
