QUIZ 1 MICROPORCESSOR

1. What is the main disadvantage of having a very fast microprocessor? Suggest

solutions on how to overcome this disadvantage.

The more powerful a processor is, the more expensive it is. Plan on spending more to get more and
faster CPU power, whether you're constructing your own system, choosing among processor-speed
alternatives from a computer maker, or looking into an upgrade to a computer you already possess.
Faster processors generate more heat and necessitate more active cooling than slower processors. Most
computers won't boot unless they have correctly set heat protection, which triggers protective
measures incorporated into the Power-On Self Test, or POST, routines that run when they start up. To
overcome this this disadvantage is to buy some cooling fans for processor to reduce high temperature
and also less applications or software use in the desktop

2. Intel is considered as one of the leading manufacturers of microprocessor today

what do you think that attributes to their success?

The attribute in our world is this all-modern technology we use in our every day lives. A microprocessor
is an essential component of a computer's architecture; without it, you won't be able to do anything
with it. It is a programmable device that accepts data, executes arithmetic and logical operations on it,
and then outputs the required result. A microprocessor, in simple terms, is a digital device on a chip that
can retrieve instructions from memory, decode and execute them, and return results.

3. Microprocessor plays a big role in our technology today, in your own opinion,

what more can we expect to the computing power of a microprocessor?

We can expect the microprocessors is evolve every year and its power also evolve, because this day’s
modern technologies need big processors to run smoothly and good performance.
