Safety features
In combination with the Type 5825, Type 5827-A, Type 5827-E, Type 3274-21 and
Type 3274-22 Electric Actuators as well as with the TROVIS 5725-8 Electric Actuator with
Process Controller, the following safety feature exists: upon failure of the supply voltage, the
valve moves to a defined fail-safe position (see the 'Design and principle of operation'
section). The direction of action of the fail-safe action is defined by the actuator version (see
associated actuator documentation).
In combination with the Type 2780, Type 3372, Type 3271 and Type 3277 Pneumatic
Actuator, the following safety feature exists: upon failure of the air supply, the valve moves to
a certain fail-safe position (see the 'Design and principle of operation' section). The fail-safe
action of the actuator is the same as its direction of action and is specified on the nameplate
of SAMSON actuators (see associated actuator documentation).

Hazards resulting from the special working conditions at the installation site of the valve must
be identified in a risk assessment and prevented through the corresponding safety instruc-
tions drawn up by the operator.

While the valve is operating, the Types 2780, 3372, 3271 and 3277 Pneumatic Actu-
ators vent during closed-loop control or when the valve opens or closes.
Î Install the control valve in such a way that vent openings are not located at eye lev-
el and the actuator does not vent at eye level in the work position.
Î Use suitable silencers and vent plugs.
Î Wear eye protection when working in close proximity to the control valve.

age installations.
