In addition, Fosroc offers technical support service to specifiers, end-users ‘and contractors, as well as on-site technical assistance in laca- tions all over the country, Properties Chloride content Nilto BS : 5075 Compressive strength The plasticising action of Cebex 200 al- lows reduction of the water/cement ratio of cementitious grouts whilst maintaining flow properties. This gives improvement in strength and long term durability when cured under restraint Setting Time :Cebex 200 may slightly retard the setting timas ‘of cement based grouts depending on the cement and ambi- cent temperature, Expansion characteristics ‘The controlled positive expansion in unset grouts incorporating Cebex 200 overcomes plastic ‘settlement when measured in accordance with ASTM C827. ‘An unrestrained expansion of upto 2% is typical ‘Time of expansion:1 minutes - 2 hours. Tempertures above 20°C may slightly reduce these times. Compatibility : Cebex 200 is compatible with all types of porland cement. Cabex 200 may be used in mixes containing certain other Fosroc admixtures. Consult Fosroc for further information. Application instructions mi For best resulis a mechanically powered grout mixer must be used. For quantiles upto 50kg a slow speed drill ited with ‘a high shear paddle is sultable, Larger quantities will require ‘high shear vane mixer. Its essential that machine mixing capacity and labour availabiliy is adequate to enable the grout- ing operation to be carried out continuously. This may require the use of a holding tank with provision for gentle agitation to maintain fluidity. The selected water content should be accu» rately measured Into the mixer. Slowly add the cement and Cebex 200. Mix continuously for 5 minutes, making sure that ‘a smooth even consistency is obtained, Application ‘Areas to be grouted should be prepared to ensure substrates are clean, sound, and then pre-wetted. The unrestrained sur- {ace area of the grout must be kept to a minimum. Place the ‘grout as early as possible after mixing to gain the full benefit of the expansion process. Adopt usual placing or pumping procedures ensuring a continuous operation. Curing (On completion of the grouting operation, any exposed areas which are not to be cut back should be thoroughly cured by means of water application, Concure curing membrane or wet Hessian. The product actively resists corrosion within the confines of the repair location and avoids the generation of incipient anodes in immediately adjacent locations. Nitozine Primer is compatible with all Renderoc mortars and fluid micro coneretes. Advantages 'Anticorrosive- Active Zinc-rich’ system combats corrosion by electro chemical means. Two component product - Easy to mix and use. 1 Timesaving - Touch dry after 30 to 45 mins. = Excollont adhesion - Exhibits excellent bond strength in ‘cementitious repairs. Nitozinc Primer is supplied as a two component system based ‘on metallic zinc and epoxy resin which on mixing gives a grey coloured tiquid Technical support Fostoc offers a comprehensive range of high performance, high quality concrete repair and construction products. In addition, Fosroc offers. technical support service to speci- fiers, end-users and contractors, as well as on-site technical assistance in locations all over the country, Design Criteria (One or two coats of Nitozine Primer are generally required, dependent largely on the nature and profile of the substrate. Nitozine Primer is recoatable generally between 30 minutes and one hour after the application of first coat. Application of top coat may also proceed at this time. At elevated tem= peratures, the recoalable and overlay times wil be reduced. The minimum application temperature for Nitozine Primer is. 10°C, The local Fosroc office may be consulted for further information. opertios Specific gravity 1.75 Wet fim thickness/coat 4100 microns Dry fm thicknessicoat 40 microns ‘Adhesive bond strength > 1.5 Nimm? with steel (ASTM D4541) Pot fe 30 minutos @ 30°C Application thickness 100 microns (wet) per coat Drying times @20'c @35°C “Touch ary 48 mins 15 mins Fully dry/Recoatable 45 minutes to 1 hour, Surface drying time @27°C 20 to 40 mins. An unbroken 40 microns DFT coating shall be capable 0f providing'active’ galvanic protection and avoiding the _generation of incipient anodes in the immediately adjacent locations. It shall be of suitable viscosity to enable the coat- ing to penetrate into imperfections and pits within the surface of the structural steel “The formulation ofthe primer shall be such that drying occurs to allow the application of the repair mortar after 45 minutes, ‘at 36°C or after one hour at 20°C. It shall be fully compatible with the reinstatement methods adopted ‘Supplier specification The steel reinforcement primer shall be Nitozinc Primer, manufactured by Fosroc and used in accordance with the manufacturer's datasheet. Nitozine Primeris fully compatible with Fosroc's reinstatement techniques. page 1 of 3 Nitozinc Primer Application instructions Preparation ‘Any corroded stee! shal be fully exposed and all loose scale and corrosion deposits shall be removed. Steel should be cleaned to a bright condition paying particular attention to the back of exposed steel bars, Grit-blasting is recommended for this process. ‘Where corrosion has occurred due to the presence of chlorides, the steel should be high-pressure washed with clean water immediately after grit-blasting to remove corrosion products, {rom pits and imperfections within its surface. Both components shallbe mixed unti!a homogenous mixture is. obtained. Itis important that both components are intermixed thoroughly and that no traces of the components remain un- mixed. A slow speed heavy duty ri fited with a paddle is recommended for mixing The application of Nitozine Primer must take place @s soon as, possible to adry slee! surface after completion ofthe prepara- tion work but always within 3 hours. (One full and unbroken coat of Nitozine Primer shall be applied Using a suitable brush, making sure the surfaces of the steel are properly coated. A small brush is generally suitable for this purpose. It shall be sllowed to dry fully before continuing Ifin doubt of having achieved an unbroken coating, a second application should be made as soon as the first coatis fully dry (generally between 30 minutes and one hour) The primed surfaces should not be left exposed to the ele- ‘ments for longer than necessary before overcoating. Nitozine Primer will, however, protect steel under clean interor exposed Conditions for a period of several months. In non-aggressive exterior environments, a maximum interval of 14 days will be tolerated but in industrial and/or marine environments this Interval should be reduced to the practical minimum. The application of concrete repair materials should proceed 18 soon as the Nitezine Prmer is flly dry ( generally 45 min to 4 hour - Refer properties). % many L Low temperature working The minirurn application temperature is 10°C, The material should not be applied when the substrate andiorairtemperature is 10°C and below.
