Introduction

This document describes the basic user manual with installation instructions for the
FactoryClient and the connection for the NFC reader.

1. Installation procedure

Notice: ip address and other parameters are just examples.

1. Step:
- Connect FactoryClient to the power and plug in ethernet cable into the LEFT connection.
Below picture is just information about interface naming in setup script.

2. Step (optional):
- Connect your NFC Reader to one of the USB ports and contact Plantformance AG
Engineer for further information

3. Step:
- Power up the FactoryClient and wait until the setup script comes up

4. Step:
When the script comes up :

- 1. Configure hostname from the list

- 2. Configure network for the FactoryClient

- IP that FC will use, Netmask and Gateway network (This is not ignition gateway!)

- 3. Wait for results of the connection to the gateway

- The ping should be successful
- Then proceed with setup by clicking ​“No, this is fine”

- 4. Configure the IP of FactoryBrain

- Afterwards it should come to the reboot screen and press “Reboot now”.

2. Things you need to provide Plantformance with

- Hostname, IP, netmask and gateway you have chosen for this FactoryClient

- Location where this FC is located (like press P1A or oven B2A)

- Serial code of FactoryClient (it's on front of FC picture below for the reference)

 3. Reconfiguration procedure
In case of changing IP, netmask or gateway you need to change FactoryClient configuration.
- Reboot FactoryClient via GUI or holding down the power button for 5 seconds and
pressing it again.
- Wait until there is text on the screen saying ​"Loading modules up. If you want to
reconfigure networking press the keyboard shortcut that is given in manual."
- Then you need to press 4 button combinations at the same time. The combination is
[CTRL] + [ALT] + [SHIFT] + [P]​.
- After that you should get the configuration screen.
- When configuration is done it will reboot itself into a graphical user interface.

4. Troubleshooting procedure
In the running client that has problems connecting to the FactoryBrain you need to press and
hold the following buttons in sequence. ​[CTRL] + [ALT] + [SHIFT] + [P]
Afterwards follow instructions given by Plantformance.

5. Changing keyboard layout

While client is running
- Go in the right top click on the power button next to the sound button.
- Then press the wrench and screwdriver icon.
- When the general settings window is opened press on the ​Region and language​ icon.
- On the bottom left you see a plus button click it and you get an interface of keyboard
layouts.
- If the keyboard layout is not on the 1st page press the three dots button and find your
layout.
- After you applied you can remove the existing layout by choosing the layout and
pressing minus.

6. Dead power adapter

The client can use 9V-24V DC input. The connector is 5,5*2,5mm. The original has 12V DC
input.

 7. Extending antenna range
FactoryClient has two RP-SMA (female) connectors on the back side. If you want to extend the
range (FactoryClient in bad position for beacon reception) you need to connect 2 antennas to
the connectors.

You need to buy antennas with RP-SMA (male) connectors.
